2. One Illinois mother of seven—three of
whom are autistic—celebrated Mother’s
Day in a grand fashion by graduating
with a law degree in time for this special
occasion. She was inspired to pursue her
degree because she found that there was
a lack of legal support for her disabled
children.
She decided to become a lawyer herself
and even worked part-time when her
husband was laid off. We would like to
congratulate Jennifer Wood, who has
earned the nickname of Wonder Woman
through her classmates!
3. Actress Kate Hudson expressed her feelings about gifts in Us Magazine
and stated that gifts from the heart were the only ones that mattered
to her. While Hudson may not live the life of the average mother, we
suspect that mothers around the globe can relate to her statement.
Those gifts that come from the heart are what matter most – in the
various forms they take.
4. Readers of the Toronto Star were
asked to submit messages of
gratitude to their mothers. The
newspaper then posted some of its
favorite messages online and these
messages definitely expressed the
affection and love the writers had
for their moms.
These are the sort of messages that
loving mothers would love to find
tucked away inside their Mother’s
Day cards.
Is this something you could try
with your mother?
5. Are flowers something that
your mother would enjoy this
valentines day?
We hope you have enjoyed
reading the first part of our
series on Mother’s Day flowers
and wish you a beautiful
celebration this May 11.
