2. VISION AND MISSION
• Our vision is to make possible affordable microelectronics that
improve the quality of life.
• To achieve this, our mission is to invent and develop lithography
machines, metrology systems and software products that
together allow our customers to follow Moore’s Law and
produce ever smaller, cheaper, more powerful and energy-
efficient semiconductors.
• The result? Increasingly more powerful and capable electronics,
with faster processing speeds, that enable the world to progress
within a multitude of fields, including healthcare, technology,
communications, energy, mobility, and entertainment
6. WHY IS LITHOGRAPHY IMPORTANT?
• “As a company that makes the lithography machines to
manufacture these chips, Moore’s Law also drives our business.
In fact, the key to making transistors on a chip smaller is
lithography.”
7. IN CONCLUSION….
• In this industry, Lithography is the way to go ASML is SOLID quantitatively. It has great
margins and a solid PEG. Qualitatively, ASML is on the right path with lithography. They
are basing their products off of Moore’s law, and are keeping up with technology
advancement.
8. INTC (INTEL CORP.)
• One of the world’s largest semiconductor chip makers and microprocessors (x86 series
that are found in most personal computers)
• Objectives:
• Extend our silicon technology and manufacturing leadership
• Deliver unrivaled microprocessors and platforms
• Grow profitability worldwide
• Excel in customer orientation
9. QUANTITATIVE FACTORS
• Industry: Semiconductor – broadline
• Market cap. is almost three times higher than Texan’s instruments which is second in the
industry (159.79B)
• PEG ratio of 1.77 which is pretty decent
• Great margins
10. FUTURE
• The announcements include the Intel® Curie™ module, a button-sized hardware product
for wearable solutions; new applications for Intel® RealSense™ cameras spanning
robots, flying multi-copter drones and 3-D immersive experiences; and a broad, new
Diversity in Technology initiative, which includes a $300 million investment to encourage
more diversity at Intel and within the technology industry at large
