Our Design & Delivery Approach
Our typical approach follows these steps:
● Use UX Advisory to identify the right problem and any limiting
dependencies
● Conduct Design Thinking to drive user empathy and alignment
on the potential solution
● Leverage an Agile Development approach to effectively build
and implement the solution
● Deliver Expert SAP Consultants across any domain to ensure
client projects are a success.
6. The Problem:
At the end of an implementation, it’s important
to assess the success and impact of the new
solution. Doing this objectively can be difficult.

Success Means Different Things to Different People
End Users
IT
Was it on budget?
Is it secure?
Did it follow existing patterns?
Biz
Was it delivered on time?
Did it improve my organization’s
ability to execute?
Does it deliver on ROI?
Users
Is it easy to use?
Does it make my job easier to
complete?
Is it easy to learn?
Only if you’re able to effectively
answer questions from all of your
constituents will you be able to
confidently declare your project a
success.

What are you going to
measure? Why? How?
What will you be measured
against?
Get data early and often.
What does the data tell you
about the solution?
What should happen
next?

Use Design Thinking to Define & Baseline
● Engage users during the definition of the problem and design of
the solution to gain insights into what’s important and what
should be measured from their perspective.
● Access to users before development starts provides
opportunities to gather UX-centric baseline metrics.
● Focus on objectivity and measurability: Metrics that are based
on quantifiable data will be more trustworthy & convincing.

Agile Development Allows for Iterative Measurement
● Leverage direct interaction with users and short feedback
cycles to begin to gather information & understand
whether changes are impacting core metrics
● Use the ‘power of MVP’ to get early feedback and course
correct as needed, for both solution and measurements
Arrows go in reverse, too -
that’s feedback!

Quickly Act on Feedback with DevOps
● Build in opportunities to quickly address most important
issues
○ Validate Assumptions and Trends that were discovered
during development cycle
○ Listen to add’l end user feedback and build into priorities
● Keeping a consistent team engaged to address post-go live
issues improves efficiency and quality of follow on
deliverables, resulting in higher likelihood of success
14. February 2017
How does this align with SAP projects?
● Clear definition of success criteria and ongoing, iterative focus
on ensuring alignment to those criteria can help keep long
projects on track
● User Experience is always a factor, but with SAP GUI, you have
a huge opportunity to improve UX with Fiori
● There’s always more to do after an SAP Go-Live - leveraging
objective metrics to help prioritize those activities will help
the most important things get done first
15. One More Thing: Focus and Invest on UX
● Intuitive UX is often simple; Simple UX is often difficult.
● Good UX design requires focus, commitment, and
dedicated effort.
● How much of your project budget is earmarked for UX
design?
