5. Importance
According to this law, the gases expand
on heating. Since the mass of gas remains
same, the number of molecules per unit
volume (density) decreases on heating. In
other words, hot air is less dense than cold
air. This enables the hot air balloons to rise
up by displacing the cooler air of the
atmosphere.
