The Forum held as two Roundtable events in both Benin, Edo (Niger Delta West) and Port Harcourt, Rivers States (Niger Delta East), where neighboring States competed among themselves for a chance to get support from NDDF partners to develop a long-term plan.
The 2018 NDDF aided in facilitating an understanding of local planning policies across contiguous borders, elevating sub-national data that supports environmental sustainability and other development priorities, shared cognizance of emerging challenges and collective intra-state opportunities, and documented innovations for resource maximization and best practices from each States
The Roundtable also featured group working sessions including a discussion on the level of implementation of the SDGs in Nigeria and the Niger Delta, challenges in implementing and monitoring the SDGs, and a debate to decide if the SDGs were working or not in the country.
,Additionally, there was a participatory session where all the participants contributed to the development of a questionnaire for engaging the government in their respective States on the status of SDGs implementation.
Discuss key themes discussed at the forum from the agenda e.g. M & E, institutional structure, etc.
