Genesis 1:7 || Meditate the Scripture daily verse by verse
Puffed Up or Built Up Slides, 12/21/14
1.
2. Now
concerning
food
offered
to
idols:
we
know
that
“all
of
us
possess
knowledge.”
This
“knowledge”
puffs
up,
but
love
builds
up.
If
anyone
imagines
that
he
knows
something,
he
does
not
yet
know
as
he
ought
to
know.
But
if
anyone
loves
God,
he
is
known
by
God.

3. The
quesDon
keeps
coming
up
regarding
meat
that
has
been
offered
up
to
an
idol:
Should
you
aFend
meals
where
such
meat
is
served,
or
not?
We
someDmes
tend
to
think
we
know
all
we
need
to
know
to
answer
these
kinds
of
quesDons—but
someDmes
our
humble
hearts
can
help
us
more
than
our
proud
minds.
We
never
really
know
enough
unDl
we
recognize
that
God
alone
knows
it
all.

4. 1. Before
we
worry
about
food,
let’s
focus
on
what’s
REALLY
important.
5. When
Asking
QuesCons:
• Know
what
we
don’t
know!
• Turn
up
our
“listening”
dial
and
turn
off
our
“puffed
up”
mouth
switch!
• If
your
quesDon
has
already
been
answered,
SHUT
UP
and
DO
IT!
6. Jerusalem
Council:
For
it
has
seemed
good
to
the
Holy
Spirit
and
to
us
to
lay
on
you
no
greater
burden
than
these
requirements:
that
you
abstain
from
what
has
been
sacrificed
to
idols,
and
from
blood,
and
from
what
has
been
strangled,
and
from
sexual
immorality.
If
you
keep
yourselves
from
these,
you
will
do
well.
Farewell.”

3. It’s
not
what
you
know,
it’s
Who
knows

9. Indeed,
I
count
everything
as
loss
because
of
the
surpassing
worth
of
knowing
Christ
Jesus
my
Lord.
For
his
sake
I
have
suffered
the
loss
of
all
things
and
count
them
as
rubbish,
in
order
that
I
may
gain
Christ
and
be
found
in
him,
not
having
a
righteousness
of
my
own
that
comes
from
the
law,
but
that
which
comes
through
faith
in
Christ,
the
righteousness
from
God
that
depends
on
faith—
that
I
may
know
him
and
the
power
of
his
resurrecDon,
and
may
share
his
sufferings,
becoming
like
him
in
his
death,
that
by
any
means
possible
I
may
aFain
the
resurrecDon
from
the
dead.
