Product management provides strategic and tactical execution to forward the product internally across functions and externally across market challenges in response to requirements aligned with the business mission. The role of the product manager is defined uniquely in companies depending on type of product, product lines, industry, size of market, age of company, processes and methodologies in place. Often within the same enterprise, the product management function will be organized differently from one area to another. Within startups, product management often doesn't exist and isn't embedded into the organization unless the founders have been exposed to the value that professional product management has on the success of the product and only after product/market fit has been achieved, or huge issues arise in understanding customer needs and market conditions.
"I'm delighted to be able to engage in a discussion about important topics on product management with a community equally passionate about this profession and lifelong commitment," states Dan Nguyen, Vice President of Products at Emotient.com
Dan Nguyen talks with host Cindy F. Solomon who is broadcasting live from Studio132 for the Global Product Management Talk on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at the simultaneous times of 10:00 AM Pacific Time, 11:00 AM MST Denver, 12:00 Noon CST Chicago, and 1:00 PM EST Boston.
