networking opportunities and cross-industry collaboration and insights. Hosted in the MasterCard Theatres and ArtScience
Museum at the iconic Marina Bay Sands, the three day conference featured global-level speakers from across the
entertainment industry spectrum providing insight and debate to more than 1,200 delegates. At night, the Music Matters
festival rocked Singapore before thousands of music lovers with more than 70 shows from 38 hand-picked bands from around
the world.

venue and a new date,

4. Back for it’s 11th year, Music Matters is the
pioneer music industry event in the Asia
Pacific region, and gathers the most
influential figures in the global music scene.
The huge potential of the Chinese music
industry was a key theme at Music Matters
this year, including the inaugural QQ Music
China Forum providing an afternoon of
insights and debate on how to operate in
China.
Other hot topics included transparency of
music rights, Blockchain technology, the
current state of the Asian streaming market
and Sync Matters returned for another year
providing a platform for the growing Asian
music synchronisation market.
Delegates also heard performances from
The Veronicas (Australia), Slot Machine
(Thailand), Aaradhna (New Zealand), and
Linying featuring Gentle Bones (Singapore).
Digital Matters this year provided many
valuable cross-industry learnings and
business insights for delegates across the
entertainment industry spectrum.
The influence of startups on the wider
entertainment industry spectrum was a key
topic, with a panel of the leading agencies
sharing insights on what the future holds for
their business.
The future of storytelling was a key theme
throughout the day, and the way in which
Virtual Reality, the rise of mobile video, and
the Asian video platforms market all
contributing different perspectives on the
topic.
The day finished with over 200 screaming
fans joining the conference to meet and hear
from YouTube superstar Bethany Mota.
Previously a standalone event, Sports Matters
was incorporated into the All That Matters
festival for the first time, with it’s strongest
speaker line up to date.
Kicking off with WWE heiress and Chief Brand
Officer Stephanie McMahon, and finishing with
Liverpool FC playing legend Robbie Fowler,
the Sports Matters delegates were treated to
an impressive range of content in the
programme this year.
Football Matters returned with top English
Premier League clubs Arsenal, Man City and
Liverpool all represented. A Sports Matters
favourite, the Formula 1 keynote, was
complemented by the new kid on the block,
Formula E. To add to the emerging sports
scene, Sports Matters this year also featured a
panel of eSports experts for the first time,
providing a beginner’s guide to one of the
most talked about sports of the year.
Effective marketing communications is topical
across the entire entertainment industry
spectrum including Sports, Music or Digital
entertainment.
Hosted in conjunction with the World
Federation of Advertisers and Ogilvy & Mather,
Marketing Matters provided a new forum to
discuss the future of marketing. It featured
CMOs from some of the world’s biggest brands
presenting keynote presentations and taking
part in panel discussions with the disruption of
current marketing methods as a key theme.
The role and value that startups can play in
the future of marketing was represented by
Startup Sessions comprising 5 ad-tech startups
hand selected to present their business idea to
a group of esteemed judges, featuring a Silicon
Valley angel investor, an agency
head and brand CMOs.

Discovery has always been a core value of Music Matters, Asia’s most diverse music
festival and this year was no exception with 38 acts from 10 countries playing gigs all
over Singapore to delighted local and visiting crowds at Timbre & Kyo venues.
LiveNation Lushington presents 2016 Music Matters Festival prides itself on showing
the best emerging talent countries have to offer, with this year country showcases
from Australia, Singapore & new markets Indonesia & Hong Kong presented by JOOX
all held at this year’s official showcase venue, Millian. Emerging stars were given a
global platform to be discovered via their performances from Singapore, Asia’s
international hub. The Music industry’s biggest moguls also acknowledged the
impressive array of talent at the festival, and were all present to discover truly unique
