Habitual Grace
Layperson in Church
Actual Grace
Piety
Theme
Message is sanctifying Grace; God is with us and we turn our lives to God; grace
provides the opening for conversion..accept the Christina Ideal; encounter with
self; we need a personal relationship with God which is beautiful
We need to live our lives with an ideal: a collection of ideals, goals, preferences,
choices; that are our life's driving force
A person’s human ideal, he/she is going someplace as a human
Permanent Divine love and protection freely given by God; we are created Christ
like
A human’s great privilege and spiritual ideal – to live God’s life – to be a
son/daughter of the Father – Brother of Christ.
We should be apostles with a spirituality that empowers our lives which are lived
based on Christian Criteria
Layperson’s unique position in the Mystical Body of Christ, his/her role in the
family of God. The world is not living as God’s children.
Actual Graces are gifts from God to help us on our journey if we choose to accept
them
To fulfill his/her spiritual ideal and live his/her role in the Church. People are not
alone, the Holy Spirit teaches and guides, other Christians help (Palanca).
Piety is being with God; loving God. We need to make the choice to be with God.
How does a layperson express his/her role in prayer? How does a human show
God he/she loves Him totally?

Leaders
1/3/2014
Encounter with Christ; echoes the first day's message and tells how the
conversion is done
Way to know God and ourselves
How does a layperson deepen their knowledge of his/her role in the Church and
his/her duties I the world? We must study, formation is not an option.
Symbolize and actualize God
Christ comes to give us our vocation and makes it possible for us to live as a
Christian. Christ’s personal encounter with humanity
Love of neighbor
A Christian cannot be an individualist – they must share what they have with
others – this sharing is a par of his/her vocation – Christianity demands action!
Sin and the devil are real; there are ways to overcome our human natures and the
world's temptations
It is not easy to live the divine life, there are obstacles in the way of living a
Christian vocation, but love conquers all.
We need to lead as if everything depended on us and pray as if everything
depended on God-we are called to live out our baptism
Through being a leader a Christian carries out the role of being Christ to others.
All humans are capable of being leaders.
