Understand the actual working of diac & triac.
Develop basic technical knowledge different switching circuit.
Identify different component use in circuit with pin configuration.
We should be able to test the output for different input.
Correct the error as per defect.
4. INTRODUCTION
Battery charger are used to maintain the electrical charger
on a secondary cell battery.
As a battery discharge ,the electrolyte in the battery
combines crystal formation.
Battery charger reverse the chemical reaction which
creates the crystal, thus rejuvenating the battery.
For a battery charger to work properly the charge voltage
must be the same as the battery voltage .
Applying too much voltage to a battery will cause the
electrolyte to overheat , and will damage the battery.

8. WORKING / PROCEDURE
Initially the input Ac (230V) supply is stepped down
to 15-0-15 V by step down transformer.
The bridge wave rectifire (i.eD1-D4) gives the DC
supply .
When cathode is held at discharge battery potentiai.
During each positive half cycle , potential ,so diode
D5 gets forward bias (ON) .
Zener diode breakdown voltage shall be same rated
voltage. If zener diode , zener voltage is 12V then
battery charger upto 12V.
