This is a project management project , we did this project in a group of 6 and the main objective of our project is to managing a project in which our company is launching a salt water driven car into the German market .
2. Developing a car for German market.
Engine should be alternative to fuel driven engine. (salt water
driven)
Car selling price should be maximum 60000 €.
Launching the car in the market.
MISSION
4. PROJECT :-
• In-house development with the view
- Acquire design competency.
- To reduce response time for actions.
- To have control over cost.
- To have optimized investments.
• Production should commence from 01.07.2017.
Major Deliverables
5. PRODUCT -:
• Technologically contemporary to have product life cycle of 15
Years.
• Engine to meet Euro V emission norms.
• Weight 200 Kg.
• NVH level to be less than 40 dBA
• High performance engine ( 95 to 135 HP).
• To be compatible with conventional engine.
Major Deliverables
6. MANUFACTURING :-
• Manufacturing flexibility & suitable for 8000 units p.a. extendable to
15000 & 20000 p.a. with additional infrastructure.
• Quality defects at vehicle level should not exceed 150 ppm.
• Tact time to be 3.5 min.
Major Deliverables
7. HR
Develop at least 3 technological / project leaders
To synergies Design, Manufacturing, Part development disciplines

15. Material cost by making crankcase of aluminium.
Electric motor to improve overall efficiency of engine.
Logistics cost by establishing vendor base near to manufacturing
facility.
Value addition & Value engineering
16. The manufacturing process requires Design considerations,
handcrafting & simplification and some High-Tech approach.
In Body shop the “space frame” is handcrafted at 8 work stations
Space frame made of Aluminium
Managing work force of around 65 working in shifts
Subassemblies are welded or glued together.
Manufacturing
17. Operating components and interior of the car is completed at 10
work stations
Appointing new skilled work force, new machines
At the final station, a lengthy and thorough visual inspection
concludes the Quality audit.
Assembly
18. Study of existing assembly line to check suitability for new engine
& car
Modifications if required
Set up new work stations & accordingly making new SOP for
relevant processes
Separate testing cabins for new engine testing
Assembly & Testing
20. • Harmony of Experience from the elder team
members & innovative thinking of fresh minds.
• Cross Functional Team in place from the start of the project.
• At the end of the project, the vision is to create t project leaders for
future programs
Human Resource
21. Workmen Selection Strategy:
• Qualitative examination & selection.
• Training & evaluation
• Qualify test to work on line / machine.
• Selection From : > Current strength, focus on attitude/Aptitude.
> Diploma holder
• Training during machine trial & acceptance.
• Ownership and empowerment for given area.
• Empowered to take decision.
Human Resource
22. Why German market is favourable ?
Government is planning to get at least one million electric or other
environment friendly vehicles on road by 2020 .
Diffusion of AFV’s might rise sharply in two years due to two reasons :-
Consumer Price for diesel and gasoline are rising continuously .
Governments Emission Norms are going to be more strict to maintain
GHG emission .
