Types of incubators parts
and their operations
2. INTRODUCTION
An apparatus in which environmental conditions,
such as temperature and humidity, can be
controlled, often used for setting and hatching eggs
artificially
3. TYPES OF INCUBATORS (PRINCIPLE)
Forced air incubator
• These have internal fans to circulate the air.
• Eggs are placed in stacks of trays. The capacity of
these incubators is large.
• Most units have automatic equipment for turning
the eggs and spray mist nozzles for holding proper
humidity levels.
4. TYPES OF INCUBATORS (PRINCIPLE)
Still air incubator
• These are usually small but may hold 100 eggs or
more, they do not have fans.
• Air exchange is made by escaping warm, air at the top
and entering cool, fresh air near the bottom.
• Air circulation is limited, so only one layer of eggs can
be incubated. Incubating temperatures in these
machines must be about 2 to 3°F. Above the
temperatures in forced-air incubators.
6. BASIC INCUBATORS
Still air
Electronic thermostat controlling 25 watt heating element
Setter and Hatcher(same)
Window for observation of hatching process
60-80 eggs capacity
7.
8. ADVANCED INCUBATORS
Forced Air/Still Air
Digital automatic temperature and humidity with
hourly egg turning
Fan assisted air circulation
Large observation window
300-500 eggs capacity
9.
10. CABINET INCUBATORS
This type of incubators have 3-5 turning trays
Digital dial thermometer and hygrometer
Large capacity 500-800 eggs(200 hatching
capacity)(1000)
High and low temperature alarms
Programmable automatic egg turning from 30 to
180 minute intervals
Clear,glazed observation door-Sturdy Metal frame,
energy efficient, insulated cabinet
covered hatching trays to prevent hatchlings
from escaping
11.
12. MULTI SETTING INCUBATORS
When it comes to multi-stage systems, none of the
incubators give as much result as multi setting
incubators.
More hatched livability
More energy efficiency
More convenience
More innovative features
Laminar Air flow system!
13. LAMINAR AIR FLOW SYSTEM
Laminar Air Flow system ensures that each stage of
development receives the proper mixture of heat,
moisture and carbon dioxide, producing more
quality hatches
The system is completely air-cooled, so under no
circumstances is additional cooling required.Multi-
Stage Incubators concentrates conditioned fresh air
to cool the oldest eggs, while using the heat and
carbon dioxide from the advanced eggs to warm
the early developing embryos.
20. It is the simplest and most widely used system
worldwide due to its flexible design as well as
superior hatching results
The central access corridor allows for easy
maintenance, cleaning, and loading without having
to shut down the system or work with open doors
that could allow heat to escape.
Humidification is controlled using a system that
supplies a fine mist into the airflow without the need
of a compressor.
21.
22. Single-Stage roll-in setters designed specifically
for all-in/all-out operation
The position of each trolley in relation to the paddle
fan places one trolley on each side. This ensures
optimum air flow through the eggs
Each six trolley section is controlled independently.
Multi-section controls give Chick Master Avída
Series setters the ability to handle up to 126,720
eggs in one unit both safely and efficiently.
To take advantage of carbon dioxide control, Avída
Series setters have CO2 control system.
23.
24.
25. Multi-Stage Roll-In Setters
Multi-stage setter featuring multi-zone control with a
wide range of capacities giving superior performance
year after year
Multi-bladed impeller fans mounted on bio-secure plastic
fan boards above the central corridor provide even air
distribution.
Heating is introduced by electric elements mounted
around the fan assembly. Cooling is achieved by a
controlled flow of cold water through efficient finned
copper coils. There is no need for a compressor since a
small electric pump powers the humidity system and
injects a fine mist into the airflow.

27. HATCHERY CONTROL AND MONITORING
SYSTEMS
The GeMeric™ Control Upgrade A cost-effective
alternative to a full control system upgrade. The
GeMeric converts your stat-based controls to
probe-based technology without the expense of
replacing your existing control unit.
28. HATCHERY CONTROL AND MONITORING
SYSTEMS
The Genesis™ IV Control System is both easy to
operate and simple to use by following the universal
graphic screens with the touch of your finger. The
touch-screen function allows instant access to all
environmental profiles, alarm settings and other low
level incubator functions
29. HATCHERY CONTROL AND MONITORING
SYSTEMS
The new mercury-free independent over-
temperature alarm is a "normally active" device that
deactivates when an over temperature condition
occurs.
Does away with the need to use mercury making a
more environmentally and employee friendly setter
and/or hatcher.
30. HATCHERY CONTROL AND MONITORING
SYSTEMS
The 2 Zone Cooling Upgrade Kit consists of two
highly efficient copper cooling coils split into
individually controlled sections. The benefits include
better hatchability and significant energy savings
31. HATCHERY CONTROL AND MONITORING
SYSTEMS
Chick Master's Ventilation Upgrade Kit enhances
your current Chick Master Setting Systems with the
latest technology in humidity and heating and
includes the components to remove copper ducts
for optimal setter hygiene, airflow, and
performance.
