Montreal

I still can't out of my driveway (or even my front door), but
my street is getting cleared! Yay for Montreal snow
removal, best in the world! Keep in mind, I had pretty much
no snow on my front lawn yesterday...

Greetings from snowy Montreal!

This was before most of it
had fallen. We went from
bare roads and lawns to
this, in a few hours.

This is legit... a boy and his mum and 2 huskies just dog-sledded
past my window! Better than driving that's for sure!! First snow
day here in many years! #snowmaggedon17

I know it's not always sunny in
SoCal, but you've likely not
opened your door to this at 6 am.
Just a lovely morning.

44 inches of snow last night, as seen
on my deck. There's a reason why
we sing, Mon pays ce n'est pas un
pays, c'est l'hiver
(My country is not a country, it's the winter).

Yeah, I won't be coming in today :)

Here's my car!

I briefly parked my car on the road last night and
then a snowplow drove by! I had to wait 3 hours for
a tow truck to pull me out (and a $100 later)!

From last night on our Highway 10 (Montreal):
Running for your life as more cars just keep coming!

I'm working from home, waiting for the
contractor to clean up my driveway.
And help has arrived:
This 4 year-old neighbor with
a great big shovel.

See attached 2 photos of my girls having fun with our dog…
but I’m not sure if he is having the same fun as the girls – LOL!

I call this “Find Waldo!”
(Hint: Waldo is my white car!)

It took me 4.5 hours to get home last night and it
normally takes me less than 20 minutes. These 3
pictures were taken last night when I got home, and this
morning when I made my decision to come to the office.

This is a Duck shelter buried on the shore
of a lake (the large flat snow covered area)

Montreal’s Poker Face

Poor Hector!
Our Mexico City based colleague
picked the wrong week to fly to
Montreal and rent a car.
Not only dealing with a 35 degree
centigrade weather swing but also
driving in a snow during a blizzard
for the first time.

Newburgh

I think there's a pool there somewhere....

“Mother Nature brought us over
2 feet of snow at our household.
What Mother Nature didn't know
is that we had Batman to help
us combat the weather!”

I was going to throw some burgers on the grill for
dinner, but clearly that wasn't happening…

I heard some Montreal colleagues
got stuck on the highway for 8
hours on the Tuesday evening
commute. I know you said photos
but I could not resist including a
video of my Tuesday PM commute

Here’s a video of the kids getting a
little desperate for spring!

At times like this, we keep our feeders full and when it
snows like it did, the birds come out in full force. Note, this
was taken through a window and with the snow still blowing.

“As the snow began to fall Monday night, signaling the start of our blizzard, the stork (or, in the case of sheep, is it a shork?)
delivered to us a new little ram lamb. White as the 2-1/2 feet of snow outside the barn door, maybe we'll name him "Blizzard"!

Twenty-three inches fell last night in Warwick NY.
Here is my dog Jack, who is very good at watching me shovel.

This is the progression of my Prius
being buried. The wind gusts even
packed the snow against the side
windows. It was cold out there!
27 inches at my house!

I live in the town of
Newburgh, and even
for New York, this was a
nasty storm.

Our Facilities Manager, Ken McCullough,
dealing with the aftermath this morning...

It was cold but a great bonding experience for 4 brothers in Newburgh,
who started at 3pm and didn't get done till 8:30pm.
