When I first noticed you, you were sitting there
with the air of a movie producer watching―
studying the scene and critiquing the actors who
were performing with an almost hypnotic stare.
I thought to myself, I could create a scene with
the two of us entwined together just dancing.
Our bodies meld together in a slow tango and
heat and tension building as if we were romancing.
I wondered as I watched you if you felt a tingling
kind of static electricity―or burning sensation.
Sweeping me off my feet so effortlessly that it was
lifting me up high and away without an invitation.
Even now, as I cannot tear my eyes away from you
I feel drawn to you like a moth toward the flame.
I do not even know your name, but I cannot help
but wonder if you could possibly feel the same.
You appear to be just another “cool customer”
Secure in a world that is the product of your creation.
I wonder where you have been all my life when I was
looking for you, I am quite sure there is no relation.
The little fantasy that I envisioned for a rendezvous
that would probably never actually have a chance.
Love does not come easy for a person who has never
known the feeling of another in an intimate romance.
The mind and body play tricks that can almost real.
If not for the profuse sweating that has me in a spell,
I would gather the nerve to approach you and find out
if you might show some interest―Or at least I could tell.
That is the beauty of a daydream―No one will ever
know.
The reason for the smile upon my face and I would die.
If you were to come up to me and ask me to dance with
you, but daydreams are merely a cleverly disguised lie.

Rarely, does it occur that one receives an appointment and
subsequently has to resign the post to due to some irregularity.
However, facts can come out after the confirmation process
has concluded favorably and they have to leave voluntarily.
The wrong person in the wrong position is something the
President very much wants to avoid, (ala ―Brownie‖ at FEMA)
A man many believed was not qualified for the position as head
of the Federal Emergency Management Agency after Katrina.
The nomination of Harriette Myers for the Supreme Court was
another ill-advised nomination that managed to go nowhere.
The President might have liked her a lot, but critics spoke up to
state emphatically she did not possess the qualifications to be there.
All political appointees realize that their appointment only lasts
until there is a change in the Administration or a reorganization.
For those who successfully maintain their office for the full eight
years they deserve a new job challenge and well-earned vacation.h
Those who have the responsibility of running a Federal Agency
do so, as was stated at the pleasure of the Commander-In-Chief.
He alone has the discretion to make appointments of those who
he believes are the right fit for the position which comes as a relief.
The Cabinet picks that President Obama has made are without a
doubt a brain trust of talented people well-qualified and skilled.
The future for the average citizen is promising if they can live
up to the high standards that are set as more positions are filled.
It is not a cupboard, or a pantry, or a root cellar,
or anything having to do with storage of any sort.
The one-on-one interviews and verbal exchanges
at times may seem more like a spectators sport.
The men and women who are on the ―hot seat,‖
are there because they are the President's choice.
To be a Senior Executive at the Federal agency where
its mission is to advance the Administration's voice.
Being hand-picked by the President is an honor and
privilege, each one would say so if they were asked.
The process of being confirmed by the House and
Senate can be grueling and takes a while to find out.
Congress is a body that has the right to use its partisan
powers to stall or completely block a potential nominee.
Senators are more interested in the more critical agency
functions like, CIA, State, Defense, and Homeland Security.
Not to say that other agencies do not get the same level
of scrutiny in the confirmation process as others do.
All the other agencies will get new Administrators, but
som have ‖Acting‖ in place so long it hardly seems new.
Unfortunately, some nominees have issues that derail their
nomination or otherwise cause themselves
embarrassment.
So, they must withdraw their name from consideration
citing
personal‖ reasons so the President can find a replacement.

Whenever a child is sleeping, have
you ever wondered what they dream?
A child's imagination can think the
most unbelievable things as they deem.
You cannot know the things that a child
may aspire to achieve or one day become.
All children at a point dream big dreams.
Not all are encouraged to achieve as some.
How cruel it would be if a parent were to
thwart them before they have the chance.
To reach their potential and live their dream
with all its possibilities, passion or romance.
A wise parent is the one who is protective
of their young mind and to assist them to grow.
If you have had the good fortune to live your
dream, then you have experience and must know.
When a child's sleep is fitful or restless, it could
be a sign that the child, not knowing is troubled.
The chance that they will have a life full of
difficulty and controversy is more than doubled.
Take a glimpse at your sleeping child and watch her
for a while―you can easily imagine or see.
That child's future is reflected in the look of
contentment on her face and your responsibility.

The song ―Zoom‖ by the Commodores says,
―I may be just a foolish dreamer, but I don't
care.

I don't follow the beat of anyone elses' drum
while navigating the uncertainty of life's game.
They day that life is like a fine gemstone that
you are fortunate enough to one day unearth.
Although it may be like a rough uncut diamond,
once it is polished, it reveals its actual worth.
The late John Lennon also sang about having a
wish in ―Imagine‖ he wished the world could be
as one—he said, ― I may just a dreamer, but I'm
not the only one.‖ Imagine if that could be done.
To dream a dream is to wish upon a star—only the
dream won't take you very far, so make it come true.
The road you travel can lead to wide open spaces or
a dead end—whatever the future may be is up to you.
You merely have to open your eyes and imagine your
dream coming true and wish upon that shooting star,
Wherever you happen to be look for opportunities that
will propel you forward no matter how long or how far.
Recall the words to the Walt Disney theme song that says,
―When you wish upon a star, it does not matter who you are.
Everything your heart desires will come to you‖ if you can
imagine it, then it can be as real as a nighttime shooting
star.

It has been a very contentious summer.
The effort to put the breaks on our debt.
The President, Democrats, Tea Party and
Republicans argued and if I had to bet....
Most say that no one was the victor in the
discussions and more debate has been set.
With the requirement to form a committee to
make more cuts, it's as uncertain as it can get.
Unemployment is triple the national average,
especially if you happen to be a returned vet.
These men and women served their country
in Iraq and Afghanistan and without any regret.
As politics as usual has increased the chance the
opposing sides will enter into a lengthy tet-a-tet.
The frustration of the American people has risen
to
its highest level of dissatisfaction in numbers yet.
The American people feel that they are helpless, as
helpless as a bunch of fish caught in a fishing net.
They have the right to complain as the are treated
no better than the average family's household pet.
The President as our leader has tried to bring the
parties together and is like no one I've ever met.
But, the Presidency is a job after-all and he has found
out the hard way, he can do only what Congress will let.
Some may want to go to another country and escape
the madness to a far far away place on the fastest jet.
The debate with all its drama has shifted the focus from
growing the economy, proving that Congress is all wet!
To anyone who was following the debate and is as fed
up with the process as America came apart at the seam,
you might well ask yourself a question as you view the
accompanying picture, this―‖What about his dream?‖

You must look inside a fantasy to make a dream
come true—in other words take a dare if you must..
The mind's eye behold what is not visible to the
naked eye things that do not exist, but it you can trust.
It scrutinizes the big picture with a laser focus that
sees everything there is to see in the in finest detail.
Especially the things that tend to be overlooked
when chaos reigns and you plans will not prevail.
Dreams should not be treated like fantasies , which
are fanciful and at times seem beyond our reality.

The landscape of a dream may be unfamiliar, but that
only makes the journey more mysterious as you go along.
Like a fantasy land, its purpose is to challenge not
entertain
and if you remember its just a dream nothing can go
wrong.
Here are no shadows in dreams, so you must keep alert to
changes in scenery because things are not what they
seem.
Things might suddenly appear and disappear for no
apparent reason, but you must expect this inside a dream.
To dream is to dare, and if you want to see your dream come
true, you must accept the dare courageous as never before.
When you accept the terms and conditions of the dare, you
need to put aside fear in order to be receptive to what's in store.
A dream can take you to the highest heights or to the deepest
places, like a hypothetical journey to the center of the earth.
Dreams You will not have a compass to guide you, as you are
drawn along passageways as your conscience shows its worth.
No one will ever dare you to follow your dream—A
are is a challenge that only you can either accept or reject.
It is your pursuit and if you confidently walk in its direction,
you will come to know as others how life our dreams can affect..
Sometimes the subtext of our dreams exposes weaknesses or
private fears that we keep well hidden from any prying eyes.
You might not recognize familiar faces or faces that you ought
to know, but they are not because they are wearing a disguise.
Fear not—a dream can never harm you; Remember it's only a
dream after all and dreams occur whenever you are fast asleep.
The kind of dream you have a choice in its content are the ones
you daydream about and occupy your thoughts and want to
keep.

They had spent many years with the people of Sudan
and were able to document the atrocities first hand.
What they report on were the kinds of things the rest of
the world does not tolerate and couldn't let this stand.
The voting was held without incident, despite the threat
of civil war, and when the votes were counted they won,
and a new nation, the Southern Sudan was born out of
the pain and adversity; they had not quit until it was done.
The outcome of the voting by the people and those who
monitored the situation had cause for great celebration.
Without a civil war, the people had prevailed and a new
nation was born with its own flag and autonomy as a
nation.
Individuals like George Clooney and others deserve their
own recognition and some kind of humanitarian award.
If it were not for their keeping the world's focus on this
unstable region, the people could not live as one accord.
This poem is about the ugly history and the
long, ongoing struggles of the people of Sudan.
Ultimately it is about the will to affect change,
and their determined to self-govern if they can.
For years there was much violence, raping of
women and forcing the people to be refugees.
The country was in turmoil and the warlords who
controlled the south destroyed what they could seize.
But, as in every great story there were heroes who
got involved and brought attention to their plight.
The people who wanted to vote on their future had
the support of Hollywood and others ready to fight.
The actor/activist George Clooney, his father, the
President and his advisors were involved completely.
Their combined efforts along with members of
Congress ensured the process came about very
neatly.

Wouldn't it be nice if—
All news was good news,
the kind that we want to hear.
And because bad things like
disasters doesn't happen
People have no reason to fear.
Wouldn't it be nice if —
The word ―Hate‖was
considered a four-lettered word.
And because its use implies the
the worst kind of behavior
It would eventually be unheard.
N.I.C.E. was understood to be
―Notify In Case of Emergency.‖
And if anything ever troubled you
It would be very nice if the
person you was to contact were me.
Wouldn't be nice if–—
We could take back
and undo all our mistakes.
And the next time
we would make better
choices to catch a break.
People would render
to each his just due.
And communities would
thrive and everyone has
a duty to look out for you.
Instead of using money
we bartered for everything.
And instead of paying taxes
there is voluntary service
Like trash pickup each spring.

What does winning gold feel like to an Olympian?
Seeing their emotions overcome them with pride.
Representing ones country is an honor that few
experience personally, and they say it's quite a ride.
What kind of training is needed to be an Olympian?
It depends on the demands of any particular sport.
The rest is a regime of practice, practice, practice,
and then the mental discipline to continue to report.
Can a disabled person dream to be an Olympian?
The Special Olympics answers a resounding “yes.”
The only limits that you will ever have are the ones
you set for yourself if you're prone to second guess.
It is the only time that nation against nation, is not
for the purpose of conflict or war, but for excellence.
And the stage is the world with a host country giving

Dream now while your young if you want to become
an Olympian someday and bring home Olympic gold.
If you don't pursue your dream while you are young
and still can be an athlete, time will say you're too old.

Making it as a part of a team or as a person
with a dream to do it better than all the rest.
What does it take to become an Olympian?
You can't get there without a lot of sacrifice?
They have only the trainers and coaches to
push them, are you willing to pay the price?

You will need heart or you will want to quit,
whenever you start to question why you are
pushing yourself to the extreme because of it.
Are you physically in shape to be an Olympian?
The truth is that you lose a step over the years.
If you started training today, it still might not be
enough, a truth that if told would be causing tears.
Have you ever looked up to a former Olympian?
If he or she inspired you to want to do the same.
Whatever motivation you need to keep you on
the goal of making the team is part of the game.

Dr. King was able to draw upon those who
preceded him in the struggle for equal rights.
The ―dream‖ he had was not the kind that
often visits us during many sleepless nights.
Looking over the history of America and
its past record on human rights and abuses.
Today, it is a different sort of spirit that has
the average person not accepting any excuses.
―All for one and one for all,‖ was the rallying
cry for the Three Musketeers when needed.
Swords lifted in the air was the sign of their
unity and the reason why they often succeeded.
That is when the meaning of the ―Dream‖ was
crystal clear in my mind, alas a decisive victory.
A man with the character and the sense to find
a common cause for the unification of family.
Now I know that you don't have to be asleep
in order to have a dream that can come true.
All you have to do is proceed in that direction
and good things will find their way to you.
At any given time, we could have an
―aha moment‖ or an epiphany to see.
Puzzling out the opportunities in our lives
that we are allowed to achieve and be.
It wasn't because I am black that people
hit on the fact that I ―sound almost white.‖
The subliminal message was so clear to
me, I knew when the time would be right.
I had no leverage to say to my fellow
countrymen, ―You should get over it.‖
I understood immediately why their
insecurity had them chaffing at the bit.
That is what Dr. King alluded to when he
uttered the famous words ―I have a Dream.‖
This was at a time where places existed for
―whites only‖―a tear in the fabrics' seam.
It is fairly easy to tolerate someone of
another race while standing in a crowd.
But, it is a stigma to be refused service or
read signs that say, ―No Negroes Allowed.‖

It is a reality that unfortunately has some to reach
their breaking point and some have committed suicide.
One tragedy built upon another in a drama that could
have a happy ending if someone was on their side.
The home, car, college tuition, and retirement are just
a few areas that have changed drastically for some.
It was the kind of circumstance not imagined if you're
wealthy and never waited for all the good the come.
The American dream has always been in the background
as the reason people try desperately to become citizens.
Now, it doesn't seem to have the appeal for immigrants
or illegals to risk coming and filling their own denizens.
Imagine having to explain to your children why you have to
leave the only home you've ever known and not know why.
How can you give them comfort and assurance when they
rebel or act out in school and it is the parents who start to cry?
Do you think of yourself as a failure and suffer from low self-
esteem, or turn to drugs and/or alcohol as a means to cope.
While slipping further into a depressed state with no one to
share your pain and no one who can offer any kind of hope.
It is during such times when you reevaluate what your priority
has to be in life, because nothing is permanent, or so it seems.
Anyone can reach the pinnacle of success and be happy, wealthy,
and do everything right in their life and have a shattered dreams.
It's official the country is in a recession and
many are feeling its effect on how they live.
It is also affecting the previously wealthy
many of whom are unable to financially give.
It was called a Ponzi scheme orchestrated by
Mr. Madoff, who ―robbed Peter to pay Paul.‖
And by the time that the government stepped
in a lot of investors and others had lost it all.
Gone in an instant were life's savings, IRA and
money market, and 401(k) retirement accounts.
The losses in excess of fifty billion dollars were
spread amongst investors in staggering amounts.
The rich and famous were not exempt, many of
them trusted Maddoff and were fooled as well.
How long it will be before any see compensation
is an issue that's undecided― it's too early to tell.
These new faces of poverty are facing hard times
financially―some for the first time in their life.
While the working poor have had to juggle their
finances dependant on dual income in strife.
It is a sober and humbling experience to have to
seek out shelter or visit food banks for necessities.
It's almost impossible to find another job and save
for housing when you're homeless facing uncertainties.

A woman told her family Doctor about an
imaginary talk that left her sanity in doubt.
The doctor was not a psychiatrist, but knew
from the context, what she was talking about.
His patient has presented with a problem
that she has had for what seems like years
She has trouble getting to sleep at night and
She is mentally exhausted to the point of tears.
The doctor was sympathetic, as he listened
to her tale about her conversation with a man
who was not an actual person, but a figment
of the mind, properly known as Mr. Sandman.
Mr. Sandman has been the subject of song―
A request for a lover, in the form of a dream.
She had much bigger plans on her stage in the
night, than cutesy, songs of candy and cream.
She had come to regard him as her nemesis
and believed she could torture him some.
She wanted to tape his beady little eyes open
for all those nights she waited for him to come.
The woman explained how she fantasized about
how she would ambush him in a sneak attack.
And nab Mr. Sandman and and tie him up and
leave him wondering if she was ever coming back.
She wove an elaborate tale of how she would
lay in wait and then effect his assassination
A sleep-deprived woman with murderous
intent, was a fact that needed no explanation.
The woman reminded the doctor that she was
in good company, hundreds more are not alone.
People are wired on Starbucks in order to work
themselves to death and drink enough coffee to
The doctor had a good laugh at her expense
and decided that she was not at all mentally ill.
And promptly pulled out his prescription pad
and wrote a refill for that little yellow pill.
He told his patient that dreams are the body's
way for the mind to filter out day's events
The stage that is created is sometimes a metaphor
for the other things in life that the mind invents.
The woman has not completely satisfied, but she
decided that it would not be good to plot or boast.
The conspiracy to take out Mr. Sandman, remains.
The “little helpers is what she need the most.
Then, the doctor said what all good doctors say when
they want their patients to feel their very best――
He told his very tired, stressed-out, and overloaded
patient, to “Go home and get yourself some rest!!”

Not the fabled ―All-seeing eye
of the Illuminati,‖ as it seems.
Like the candles used in a vigils
for lost hopes and dreams.
Now as I see my fate in front of
us, open your arm to welcome,
the one who promised change not
the ―wishful-thinking‖ of some.
Is it a dream or a nightmare, I
created because of what I fear?
Maybe I've been in the darkness
too long I'm blind, but can hear.
A genie in a lamp might not
be able to catch a falling star.
Even if he said, ―Work with me
here,‖ it would be ―sub par.‖
I'm wishing on a star and I'm
wishing on my own dreams.
I'm wishing that you would try
to find out what it means.

—Achievement can make a believer out of a skeptic.
Driven by a strong desire to see one's dream come
to fruition is enough to make a spoiler apoplectic.
When the odds are stacked against you or you have
a disability or disadvantage, success is a testament,
To the will of the human spirit to persevere against
all odds and to do so without the same measurement.
What dreams may come depends on your motivation
that is seated within your heart and fabric of our soul.
The quest to make them come true may be arduous,
depressingly lonely and can take a psychological toll.
However, dreams are important, especially for young
minds that are shaped early not to be lazy in endeavors.
Parents and mentors who provide encouragement for
them to meet their goals is like pulling the right levers.
If a good dream disappears too quickly, it might not be
possible to recapture the moment it was lost to do over.
Life seldom affords second chances, so it is important to
make your breaks― not depending on a four-leaf clover.
What dreams may come for you is a question that only
you can answer and what value-added education you get.
No one who has achieved great things ever did so with
the attitude of failure, quitting or not having a safety net.
What happens after your dream comes true
and you can now claim your victory prize?
The quest for fulfillment has taken you far
and wide—at a cost more than you realize.
Dr. King proclaimed to the world that, he
―had been to the mountain top‖ in his dream.
Like so many before him, it alluded him as
if carried away by the vagaries of life's stream.
On an epic journey with unsurmountable
obstacles, the goal is life-changing in many ways.
It tests your character, as in the dream that Alice
found herself in Wonderland lost for many days.
You don't have to go down a rabbit hole nor to
disconnect from some so-called invisible ―Matrix.
No one has the authority to plan out your steps or
destination, without adding confusion to the mix.
A father takes his son for a walk in the woods so
he can learn what he should and should not fear.
He knows that experience is the best teacher and
and his goal is to ensure that this lesson is clear.
Most people say hey are inspired by recent events
and proud beyond words that a new era has begun.
For others, it is a grandiose scheme and an illusion
that will be viewed as insignificant in the long run.

PIGMENT OF IMAGINATION
Blue is the mood on a rainy day and can
signify a storm when Grey clouds turn dark
Black is the night that provides the back
drop to a dazzling white star studded sky
It is also the color is used to signify a mark.
Black and blue together is rarely a good sign
especially when clearly visible on the face
The ugliness that it represents is a strong
indication that there was some kind of injury
or or worse a record of abuse time won't erase.
People name call in color and is common
