5. Benefits:
Financialreturn from selling products to the
cafeteria and at farmers markets which can
help offset some of the initial cost
In the case of Vancouver Technical School, the
garden has been funded by a $35,000 grant
Creates an outdoor classroom for teachers to
utilize
Shows students where some of the food they
eat comes from and how it grows
Provides the opportunity for a new club
Creates a unique space for students to go to

7. Sustainable SFU
Sustainable SFU is in the process of building
a learning garden just outside the AQ and
are planning to hold workshops showing
students how to grow and use local food,
while also teaching about garden and
business management.
They will also be making pots available for
student and class rental.
