8. GRACE
In the New Testament, the word translated as
“grace” is the Greek word
Charis, pronounced khar'-ece. Strong's
Concordance gives this definition;
“Grace, the state of kindness and favor
towards someone, often with a focus on a
benefit given to the object.” A Greek word
that is related to Charis is Charisma (gracious
gift). Both these words originated from
another Greek word Chairo (to rejoice, be
glad, delighted).
9. HEBREWS 12:22-24
But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the
living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come
to a place where thousands of angels have gathered
to celebrate. You have come to the meeting of God's
firstborn children. Their names are written in
heaven. You have come to God, the judge of all
people. And you have come to the spirits of good
people who have been made perfect. You have
come to Jesus--the one who brought the new
agreement from God to his people. You have
come to the sprinkled blood that tells us about
better things than the blood of Abel.
10. GRACE BEFORE LAW
Genesis 6:8-9
But Noah pleased the LORD. This is the history of Noah's family.
He was a good man all his life, and he always followed God.
Genesis 6:17-18
"Understand what I am telling you. I will bring a great flood of
water on the earth. I will destroy all living things that live under
heaven. Everything on the earth will die. I will make a special
agreement with you. You, your wife, your sons, and their wives
will all go into the boat.
Genesis 7:1
Then the LORD said to Noah, "I have seen that you are a good
man, even among the evil people of this time. So gather your
family, and all of you go into the boat.

Offering of Issac a Foreshadow of Jesus
Genesis 22:18
Messianic Promise
John 8:56

he would see the day when I came. He
saw that day and was happy."
12. LAW GIVEN Exodus 20 -
GOD Himself gave the Law to the people.
The people were terrified by GOD'S voice.
Moses then interceded for the people.
GRACE CAME John 1:17
That is, the law was given to us through Moses,
but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
Multitudes of people gathered around Jesus.
Jesus now intercedes for us.
13. LAW – SINS REMEMBERED
Visit iniquity to third and fourth generation
Exodus 20:5, 34:7
Numbers 14:18, Deuteronomy 5:9
GRACE – SINS REMEMBERED NO MORE
“And I Will Remember Their Sins No More”
Hebrews 8:12
Hebrews 10:17
14. LAW CONEMNS
2 Cor. 3:6
He made us able to be servants of a new agreement
from himself to his people. It is not an agreement of
written laws, but it is of the Spirit. The written law
brings death, but the Spirit gives life.
GRACE BRINGS FREEDOM
Romans 8:1-2
So now anyone who is in Christ Jesus is not judged
guilty. That is because in Christ Jesus the law of the
Spirit that brings life made you free. It made you free
from the law that brings sin and death.
15. LAW REVEALS SIN
The Law shows who we are and reveals sin.
The Law has no power to forgive sins.
The Law was not given to the Gentiles.
GRACE FORGIVES
Under grace, it doesn't matter who we are,
(Jew, Gentile, male, female, black, white, etc.)
or what we have done, we are ALL forgiven.
16. FIRST PASSOVER AND PENTECOST
Lambs Blood - Deliverance from Egyptian bondage.
Law given by GOD and death received for
transgression when Moses returned from the
mountain.
PASSOVER AND PENTECOST IN ACTS
JESUS' Blood - Deliverance from sin bondage.
Grace and Life through obedience to GOD
through JESUS.
17. GRACE PERSONIFIED
John 1:1, 14
Before the world began,
the Word was there.
The Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
The Word became a man and lived among us.
We saw his divine greatness—
the greatness that belongs to the
only Son of the Father.
The Word was full of grace and truth.
18. LAW NAILED TO CROSS
Colossians 2:13-15
You were spiritually dead because of your sins and
because you were not free from the power of your
sinful self. But God gave you new life together
with Christ. He forgave all our sins. Because we
broke God's laws, we owed a debt--a debt that listed
all the rules we failed to follow. But God forgave
us of that debt. He took it away and nailed it to
the cross. He defeated the rulers and powers of the
spiritual world. With the cross he won the victory
over them and led them away, as defeated and
powerless prisoners for the whole world to see.
19. SATAN IS OUR ACCUSER
Satan says if we are not under law, we are
lawless.
He accuses us day and night before GOD.
He accuses our own hearts and spirits.
JESUS IS OUR DELIVERER
Because of Jesus, we are not under law.
We are under grace.
We have been delivered from the accuser.
20. JESUS GAVE UP EVERYTHING
2 Corinthians 8:9
You know the grace of our Lord
Jesus Christ. You know that He
gave up His heavenly riches
for you. He gave up
everything so that you could be
richly blessed.
21. JESUS GAVE UP EVERYTHING
Philippians 2:5-8
In your life together, think the way Christ Jesus
thought. He was like God in every way, but
he did not think that his being equal with God
was something to use for his own benefit.
Instead, he gave up everything, even his place
with God. He accepted the role of a
servant, appearing in human form. During
his life as a man, he humbled himself by being
fully obedient to God, even when that caused
his death--death on a cross.
22. DELIVERANCE FROM BONDAGE
Romans 8:1-16
So now anyone who is in Christ Jesus is not judged guilty. That is because in Christ Jesus the law of the
Spirit that brings life made you free. It made you free from the law that brings sin and death. The law
was without power because it was made weak by our sinful selves. But God did what the law could not
do: He sent his own Son to earth with the same human life that everyone else uses for sin. God sent
him to be an offering to pay for sin. So God used a human life to destroy sin. He did this so that we
could be right just as the law said we must be. Now we don't live following our sinful selves. We
live following the Spirit. People who live following their sinful selves think only about what they
want. But those who live following the Spirit are thinking about what the Spirit wants them to do.
If your thinking is controlled by your sinful self, there is spiritual death. But if your thinking is
controlled by the Spirit, there is life and peace. Why is this true? Because anyone whose thinking is
controlled by their sinful self is against God. They refuse to obey God's law. And really they are not
able to obey it. Those who are ruled by their sinful selves cannot please God. But you are not ruled
by your sinful selves. You are ruled by the Spirit, if that Spirit of God really lives in you. But
whoever does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to Christ. Your body will always be dead
because of sin. But if Christ is in you, then the Spirit gives you life, because Christ made you right
with God. God raised Jesus from death. And if God's Spirit lives in you, he will also give life to
your bodies that die. Yes, God is the one who raised Christ from death, and he will raise you to life
through his Spirit living in you. So, my brothers and sisters, we must not be ruled by our sinful
selves. We must not live the way our sinful selves want. If you use your lives to do what your sinful
selves want, you will die spiritually. But if you use the Spirit's help to stop doing the wrong things
you do with your body, you will have true life. The true children of God are those who let God's
Spirit lead them. The Spirit that we received is not a spirit that makes us slaves again and causes
us to fear. The Spirit that we have makes us God's chosen children. And with that Spirit we cry
out, "Abba, Father." And the Spirit himself speaks to our spirits and makes us sure that we are
God's children.
23. FREED FROM SIN
Acts 13:38-39
Brothers, understand what we are telling you. You can have
forgiveness of your sins through this Jesus. The Law of Moses
could not free you from your sins. But you can be made right
with God if you believe in Jesus.
1 John 1:7
We should live in the light, where God is. If we live in the
light, we have fellowship with each other, and the blood
sacrifice of Jesus, God's Son, washes away every sin and
makes us clean.
1 John 1:9
But if we confess our sins, God will forgive us. We can trust God
to do this. He always does what is right. He will make us
clean from all the wrong things we have done.

25. FREED FROM SIN

we would stop living for sin
and live for what is right.
By his wounds you were healed.
