  • 5. 03 UUndergraduate/Postgraduate Courses Overview Our Undergraduate programme includes BSc (Hons) degrees (three years) and Edexcel HND Diploma Courses (two years). The Postgraduate courses require between twelve and eighteen months of full-time study. Each academic year consists of two semesters of eleven weeks of tuition, followed by assessments. On average, you will be required to register for four modules/units per semester. Eachmoduleclassmeetsonceeachweekandmostsessionsarethreehourslong. At LSBM we realise that you are unique and plans can change. Consequently, there are two opportunities (September and February) each year for you to join the Undergraduate and Postgraduate degree courses or four opportunities (September, November, February and April) each year to join the vocational Edexcel HND courses. The academic year is divided into two or four eleven- week semesters depending on your course, beginning in September and November (Autumn semester), and February and April (Spring semester). In all years, you will take a compulsory module in Student Development, which will provide you with the essential academic study skills necessary to succeed at higher education level. Each of the Undergraduate courses begins with Level 4 (the first year), which provides an excellent introduction to your chosen field of study. The knowledge you will gain, together with academic guidance, will help you on a pathway for your skills and career aspirations during the following years of study. The Edexcel HND courses are especially designed for those who seek vocational qualifications and/or wish to study one of the degrees provided by LSBM, but whose present qualifications do not permit direct entry. Candidates who successfully complete the HND may be considered for progression to the third year of the Undergraduate degree course. Our classes are small, with a maximum of 30 students in any standard class, and you will benefit from a high level of personal attention. Our world-class programmes are practical and focus on enabling you to develop the skills you need to become future leaders in the international business world. Every course benefitsfromadditionalweeklycontacttimewithyourCourseLeader, specifically allocatedtoprovideyouwithindividualhelpinimprovinglearningandresolving academic issues in relation to your specific course.
