Robotics:
 Robotics is the branch of technology that deals with
the design, construction, operation, and application of
robots, as well as computer systems for their control,
sensory feedback, and information processing.
 The design of a given robotic system will often
incorporate principles of mechanical engineering,
electronic engineering, and computer science
(particularly artificial intelligence

 Automation or automatic control, is the use of
various control systems for operating equipment such
as machinery, processes in factories applications with
minimal or reduced human intervention. Some
processes have been completely automated.

 In all cool drink manufacturing industries.
 In research labs.
 In aero space.
 In medical field.
 In saw mill industries.
 In bio robotics field.

Nano robotics find the cancer cells
and destroy the particular cancer
cell without affecting other cell.

This robot is used to examine how memories
manifest themselves in the brain.
Like a “neuron”.
used to study disorders of the brain such as

Bionic parts:
 Bionic hand: six Motors used. When a person
thinks "open hand," the brain sends the "open
hand" signal to the appropriate nerve.
Bionic eye:
 Bionic eyeartificial retina device, a miniature
camera mounted in eyeglasses captures images
and wirelessly sends the information to a
microprocessor (worn on a belt) that converts the
data to an electronic signal and transmits it to a
receiver on the eye.
Bionic ear:
it imitates the opertion of real ear.
Advantages of robotics and
Automation Systems :
 Conservation of water and labour : Since the systems
are automatic, they do not require operator.
 System and operational flexibility: As desired, any
valve can be controlled along with the pump.
 Increased efficiency of water and fertilizer use.
 Systems can be operated at night.
 Savings in energy, cost and water.
Disadvantages of robotics and
automation:
 Expensive
 Require more electrical power.
