The design of robotic systems incorporates principles of mechanical engineering, electronic engineering, and computer science. There are different types of robots including mobile robots, rolling robots, walking robots, and stationary robots. Automation uses control systems to operate equipment with minimal human intervention. Some industrial processes have been completely automated. Global demand for industrial robots is increasing in fields like manufacturing, research, aerospace, medical, agriculture, and more. Robotics and automation can increase productivity, improve accuracy and consistency, protect molds, improve part quality, add versatility, and reduce scrap.
