INTRODUCTION
NCERT is the national council of educational reserach and training which is an
organisation set up by Government of india,with headquater located at sri
Aurhindo Mary in New Delhi to asist and advice the control and state government
on accademic matters related to school education it was established in 1961. The
council formed by meging seven existing institution of the national government
including the central institute of education, the central Bureau of education,the
central bureau of text book rearch,the cenral bureau of educational and voccational
guidence, The directorate of extension programers for secondary education the
national institute of basic education the national fundamental education centre anda
the national institute of audio visual education
NCERT has comperhensive extension programme in which
the departments of Ntional institute of education. Regional institute of education
,central institute of voccational education and officers of the field advise in the
state are engaged in activities .Several programmes are organised in rural and
backward areas to reach act to funcationaries in these areas.The NCERT
publishes text books provides from class I toXII.NCERT publishes books provides
simple question papers that are used in government and private schools across
india that follow the CBSE curiiculum.

National council of educational resaerch and training has somany funcations in
promoting school education in india
1) Reserch: Being an apex national body for reserach in school education ,the
NCERT performs the important functions of conducting and supporting resaerch
and offering training in educational reserach methodology beside conducting in
house treserach ,the NCERT supports reserach programs of other institution by
providing functional assistance and accademic guidence .Research fellow ship are
offered to encourage studies in school education to creatye a reserach base for
developmental training and ectension programmes and to create pool of competent
trseach workers .The NCERT also organise educational research in the country.
2)Development: Developmental activities in school education constitute an
important function of NCERT. The major activity are development and renewal of
curricula and instructional material for various level of school education and
making them relavant to changing needs of children and society .The innovative
development activities include development of curricula and instructional materials
in school education in the area of preschool aducation formal and non formal
education voccationalisation of education and teacher education.
3)Training: Another important diamension of NCERT's activities are the pre
service and in service training of teachers at various level ; preprimary elementry
secondaryand higher secondary and also in such areas as voccational education
,educational technology ,guidence and counselling,and special education.

4) Extension: The NCERT has comperhensive extension programmes in which
various department of the NIE, RIEs,CIET,PSSCIVE,and the offices of the field
advicers in the state are engaged in various ways conferences,seminar
,workshops and competitions are organised as regular ongoing programmes as a
part of extension for the education of disadvantaged section of the society .The
extension programmes covers all states and union territories of the country.
5)Publication and Dissemination: The NCERT publishes text book for diffrent
school subjects for classes 1 to XII. It also bring out workbbooks teachers guides
,supplementary readers ,reserach reports. It publishes instructional materials for the
use of teachers education,teacher trainies ,The text books are published in English
,Hindi and Urudu. The NCERT publishes six journals.the primary teachers is
published both inenglish and hindi and aims at giving meaningful and relevant
educational inputs to primary achool teachers for direct use in class room.
6) Exchange Programmes : The NCERT interacts with international organistion
such as UNSECO,UNICEF,UNDP,NFPA,and world bank to study specific
educational problems and to arrange trining programmes for personal from
developing countries.The NCERT also acts as major agency for implementing the
bilateral cultutal exchange programmes entered into by the the government of
india .Educational material are exchanged with other countries .On reguest ,the
faculty members are deputed to participate in international conferences,seminar
workshops symposia....etc.

OBJECTIVES OF NCERT:-
There are somany objectives are included in NCERT
programmes they are:
1) To develop curriculam instructional and examplar
materials method of teaching technique of evaluation
teachings aids leraning resources.
2)To undertake necessary research ,educational survey
innovation experiments for school education .
3)To maintain liaison with international agencies and
organisations in educational matters.
4) To study issues and problem related to various ares of
education and suggest remedies.
5)To run kendrya vidyalas,Navodaya vidyalas, National
open school and other institution financed by the
government .

6)To organise extension service for such institution as are
engaged in educational reserach training of teachers of
extension service to schoolsearch exams.
8) To develop and disseminate improved educational
techniques and practices in school.
9)To work for qualitatiue improvement of school
education and teacher education.
10)To develop and implement national curriculum frame
work and adverse state level agencies in such matter.

CONCLUSION
National council of educational research and training
(NCERT) is the basement of current educational system.
NCERT is a powerful mean to run educational system
very effectively and properly .NCERT has somany
objective and present educational system is the under
control of NCERT.School curriculum and text book are
framed and published by NCERT.Let me conclude that
NCERT is an effective organisation set up by
Government of India to promot the school education and
educatioanl programmes in India.
