• Not applied anymore at SI Labs 
• Clear responsibilities in all

• Difficult for team members to bring up 
own ideas -> limits motivation 
• PM rarely works on a content-level 
• Promotion of people is based on 
management skills and not expertise in 
their field 
• „Dog-eat-dog Mentality“
SELF-MANAGED TEAM 
• No specified leader or driver 
• Everything is decided in the group: plans, 
tasks, problems… 
• Is applied in some internal projects 
(e.g. „Friday Projects“) 
• Works well with limited time-frames 
and internal projects 
• Decisions are concensus based 
-> buy-in 
• Shared interest and excitement for the 
project leads to shared responsibility 
• Lack of accountability in client projects 
• Who decides if worst comes to worst?

and flexible 
• Space for emerging ideas and creative
