This Presentation is all about the Cardiac cycle. The cardiac cycle is the performance of the human heart from the ending of one heartbeat to the beginning of the next. It consists of two periods: one during which the heart muscle relaxes and refills with blood, called diastole, following a period of robust contraction and pumping of blood, dubbed systole.

Sequence of events from the beginning of one systole to the beginning of next consecutive systole. One heart beat consists of one systole and one diastole. Each cardiac cycle is initiated by the cardiac impulse which originates from the SA node. During each cardiac cycle, certain events occur in the heart and these include pressure changes, volume changes, production of heart sounds, closure and opening of heart valves and electrical changes in the heart.

Nanoporous anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) has been used in many different fields of science and technology, due to its great structural characteristics. Solar selective surface is an important application of this type porous material. This paper investigates the effect of nanoporous AAO properties, including; film thickness, pore area percentage and pore diameter, on absorption spectra in the range of solar radiation. The parameters were verified individually depending on anodization condition, and the absorption spectra were characterized using spectrophotometer analysis. The results showed that the absorptivity was increased with growth of the film thickness. Furthermore, increasing the pore diameter shifted the absorption spectra to the right range, and vice versa. The investigation revealed the presence of an optimum pore area percentage around 14% in which the absorptivity was at its maximum value.

The Trivalent Chromium Wastes Exclusion from Regulation as a Hazardous Waste 40 CFR 261.4(b)(6) excludes Trivalent Chromium Waste, a solid waste, from regulation as a hazardous waste if the requirements of the regulations are met. This presentation briefly summarizes the requirements of this RCRA exclusion from regulation. Those in the leather tanning industry, leather product manufacturing industry, shoe manufacturing industry, and titanium dioxide manufacturing industry should be aware of this RCRA exclusion and its possible impact on their operations.

Protection of aluminium alloys is most commonly done by forming anodic films. Anodic films can also be formed on metals like titanium, zinc, magnesium, niobium, and tantalum. Aluminium alloy parts are anodized to greatly increase the thickness of the natural oxide layer for corrosion resistance. A thin aluminium oxide film, that seals the aluminium from further oxidation when it is exposed to air. The anodizing process increases the thickness of the oxidized surface. Anodizing is accomplished by immersing the aluminium into an acid electrolyte bath and passing an electric current through the medium. In an anodizing cell, the aluminium work piece is made the anode by connecting it to the positive terminal of a dc power supply and the cathode is connected to the negative terminal of the dc source. Sealing is needed to seal the pores in oxide layer to prevent further corrosion. Oxide layer on the anodized aluminium has a highly ordered, porous structure that allows for secondary processes such as dyeing, printing and sealing. Nanowires and nanotubes can be made by using the pores in the oxide layer as templates.

This lecture describes the process of anodic oxidation of aluminium, which is one of the most unique and commonly used surface treatment techniques for aluminium; it illustrates the weathering behaviour of anodized surfaces. Some familiarity with the subject matter covered in TALAT This lectures 5101- 5104 is assumed.

Most people with supraventricular tachycardia don't need activity restrictions or treatment. For others, lifestyle changes, medication and heart procedures may be needed to control or eliminate the rapid heartbeats and related symptoms. Types Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) falls into three main groups: Atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia (AVNRT). This is the most common type of supraventricular tachycardia. Atrioventricular reciprocating tachycardia (AVRT). AVRT is the second most common type of supraventricular tachycardia. It's most commonly diagnosed in younger people. Atrial tachycardia. This type of SVT is more commonly diagnosed in people who have heart disease. Atrial tachycardia doesn't involve the AV node. Other types of supraventricular tachycardia include: Sinus tachycardia Sinus nodal reentrant tachycardia (SNRT) Inappropriate sinus tachycardia (IST) Multifocal atrial tachycardia (MAT) Junctional ectopic tachycardia (JET) Nonparoxysmal junctional tachycardia (NPJT) Symptoms The main symptom of supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) is a very fast heartbeat (100 beats a minute or more) that may last for a few minutes to a few days. The fast heartbeat may come and go suddenly, with stretches of typical heart rates in between. Some people with SVT have no signs or symptoms. Signs and symptoms of supraventricular tachycardia may include: Very fast (rapid) heartbeat A fluttering or pounding in the chest (palpitations) A pounding sensation in the neck Weakness or feeling very tired (fatigue) Chest pain Shortness of breath Lightheadedness or dizziness Sweating Fainting (syncope) or near fainting In infants and very young children, signs and symptoms of SVT may be difficult to identify. They include sweating, poor feeding, pale skin and a rapid pulse. If your infant or young child has any of these symptoms, ask your child's care provider about SVT screening. When to see a doctor Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) is generally not life-threatening unless you have heart damage or other heart conditions. However, in extreme cases, an episode of SVT may cause unconsciousness or cardiac arrest. Call your health care provider if you have an episode of a very fast heartbeat for the first time or if an irregular heartbeat lasts longer than a few seconds. Some signs and symptoms of SVT may be related to a serious health condition. Call 911 or your local emergency number if you have an episode of SVT that lasts for more than a few minutes or if you have an episode with any of the following symptoms: Chest pain Shortness of breath Weakness Dizziness Get the latest health information from Mayo Clinic’s experts.
