El movimiento dadaísta eclosiona simultáneamente en Zürich y Nueva York como reacción inmediata del arte ante la barbarie bélica de la I Guerra Mundial. Los artistas adoptan una posición irónica, iconoclasta y distructiva que lleva a cuestionar abiertamente el propio concepto de arte así como la posibilidad de llevar a cabo toda actividad artística. Con ello se continuó desarrollando la actividad investigadora propia de la vanguardia, abriendo múltiples vías de expresión cuyos efectos llegan hasta la actualidad. Zurich, en torno al Cabaret Voltaire; Nueva York, partiendo de la figura clave de Marcel Duchamp; y Alemania, con un fuerte sentimiento político dado el contexto de la derrota en el conflicto bélico, son los tres principales focos donde el Dadaísmo tuvo un mayor impulso.

By simplifying objects (in this case hands) into simple shapes and lines while comparing height and width, students learn how to draw from observation and not prior knowledge. incorporating the study of contour lines in their hands student then think about design- creating a super cool design int he background! My high school students LOVED this project and this PowerPoint really helped! Enjoy!
