Step 1: equipped vehicle hears RSU (DGPS), and corrects absolute position
Step 2: detailed intersection map broadcast message received
Step 3: vehicle calculates position on map and distance to stop using DGPS
Step 4: vehicle receives signal phase and timing advisory
Step 5: if signal timing indicates probable violation, warning is provided.
Step 6: driver brakes to avoid entering collision zone during red light interval.
