10. Representative Projects
Optimized Sales Modeling
July 2010 to Present
Outre' Consulting
Using technology to optimize the management of the sales process from identifying and qualifying prospects through
the management of the client relationship. The solution includes the use of converged technologies creating a virtual
environment for streamlining sales processes, collaboration and management in a secure environment accessible
through multiple end-user devices including wired and wireless devices including smart phones creating a substantial
competitive advantage for the sales organization.
Capital Formation
January 2007 to June 2008
Alliance Group Research (AGR)
Led development of operations model and wrote Corporate business plan. Engaged investment bankers in Houston,
Los Angeles and New York resulting in obtaining a financial commitment through private placements in excess of
$23.6 million.
Additional asset financing was obtained through syndication in the amount of $76 million.
Legacy Application Redesign
1999 to 2000
Applied Training Resources Inc
Successfully led market analysis and redesign of legacy systems for migration and launch into new market segments.
Implementation of Toyota TEAMS Beta
During the early 80's, I led in the implementation of Toyota's new business operations models. As one of the few Beta
sites in the United States, profitability doubled and allowed the site to become the first Toyota dealer in Texas to break
the $1 million mark in labor sales and making me one of the youngest managers in a major market in Toyota's history.
Pioneering Telemedicine Program
Corporate Integrated Medical Systems
Nominated for the INC/Cisco Growing with Technology Award.
Developed business model and plan for one of JCAHO accredited ambulatory care centers for traumatic head injuries
that included the services of rehabilitation professionals and specialized physicians operating in a paperless and virtual
environment.
Services to remote patients were delivered via Telemedicine - a new medical delivery system allowing patient
diagnosis, care and follow-up in remote areas formerly un-served by these types of professionals.
11. This environment became one of the operational models for telemedicine in use today. Using voice recognition
software, we were able to develop advanced communication capabilities for patients with vocal impairments.
Raised over $5 million in venture funds through Private Placement.
Biomedical Project for Adult Stem Cell Expansion and Patient Use
Enterprise Consulting Services
Operating as acting CEO for this biomedical company, I led the research for the expansion of adult stem cells using
technologies obtained from NASA through their technology transfer program.
Under my guidance and with the assistance of and research performed at MD Anderson Cancer Center, I was able to
direct counsel to file applications for over 20 patents. These patents were based on drawing patient blood, filtering out
the adult stem cells and expanding the number of the viable cells for the injection back into the patient for treatment of
diseases including diabetes, heart muscle damage and such.
Clinical trials are currently taking place at the Texas Heart Institute.
Capital Formation for Biomedical Company
Enterprise Consulting Services
Developed business model and wrote the Company’s business plan used in the filing of a SB-2 Direct Public Offering.
Engaged legal and financial counsel, investment bankers and market makers. After reorganization, an SB-2 DPO was
filed with the SEC for a stock offering to the public in the amount of $10 million resulting in a market capitalization of
over $150 million.
Launch of new Toyota Dealership
Instrumental in facility design, equipping and staffing of the first new Toyota dealer franchise awarded in Texas in
almost 20 years.
Through exceptional management skills, first year revenues exceeding projections by over 150% and was awarded the
status of self authoring dealer. Unheard of for a new dealer, the dealership's award provided the dealer with a "blank
check" for repairs charged back to the manufacturer.

Technology boosts health care compliance, training systems
Houston Business Journal - by Richard Cole
Health care providers have cut costs and have trimmed their staffs as a means to remain profitable, but at what cost to a patient's safety?
At a time when fewer workers are performing more tasks, health care providers must begin looking for tools that will allow staff members
better access to information and training.
Human performance and safety can be enhanced considerably through technology. Although technology developed for other industries
may be only part of the solution, it does offer the health care industry an immediate avenue to begin addressing the new challenges.
A recent Institute of Medicine report estimates that over 7,000 deaths each year are caused by preventable medication errors. In addition,
preventable medication errors are estimated to increase annual hospital costs by approximately $2 billion nationwide. Many of these
adverse effects are associated with pharmaceuticals.
The Food and Drug Administration receives approximately 100,000 reports per year of adverse events associated with medical devices
and over 250,000 reports associated with pharmaceuticals. The FDA estimates that over one-third of these adverse events are
preventable.
According to the report, the health care industry maintains a proficiency level of 99 percent. Although this is impressive, drastic
improvements are necessary. If performance levels of 99.9 percent were applied to the airline and banking industries (substantially better
than those in health care), it would equate to two dangerous landings per day at O'Hare International Airport or 32,000 checks deducted
from the wrong account per hour.
STREAMLINING ADMINISTRATION
One way that many large companies improve patient safety is by streamlining the administration of their corporate compliance, training
and incident-tracking programs.
This can be accomplished by integrating the system with e-mail, establishing an automatic notification process allowing companies to
fully automate and manage system-wide programs.
Fully integrated systems not only ease administrative burdens but also hold the staff accountable for knowing company policies and
procedures and completing all their assigned training through 24 hour a day Web-based access.
WIRELESS APPLICATION
Health care shares a number of characteristics with other industries, as they all rely on systems which include the interaction of humans
and technology to perform a number of functions leading to an outcome. However, health care is distinct in its complexity. For example, a
patient in an intensive care unit is the recipient of an average of 178 different activities performed per day that rely on the interaction of
monitoring, treatment and support systems.
It has been suggested that many medical errors can be attributed to the simple fact that the knowledge base to effectively and safely
deliver health care exceeds the storage capacity of the human brain. The technology is available, however, to put policy, procedures and
training into the hands of a health care operation's staff using wireless application protocols.
Systems have been developed for use with commercially available hand-held devices, allowing procedures to be downloaded for
immediate access. These systems also provide data collection, incident reporting and sign-off capabilities on a point-of-need basis. When
incidents occur, especially when life threatening, workers may not remember exactly what to do and do not have the time to run a look up
a procedure.
COMPUTER-BASED TRAINING
The Veterans Administration, considered as one of the nation's leaders in patient safety, has instituted patient safety programs in all of its
health care facilities, which serve 3.8 million patients nationwide. This year, the VA will invest over $47.6 million to increase the
requirement for patient safety training for staff from 15 to 20 hours a year. This, in part, isdue to the Institute of Medicine's
recommendation of including periodic re-examination of a health care professional's knowledge of patient safety as part of the provider's
license renewal.
Organizations can implement online testing programs that not only help ensure high levels of competency, but also provide a vehicle for
self-assessment and benchmarking.
