- 8. Why am I here today?
IDP developed an entirely and exclusively IBM Technology Stack
based Universal System Architecture (USA) to enable all of our
product/application development
Because our USA makes possible the rapid development and
deployment of state of the art, enterprise grade Web 2.0, SOA,
BPM and Rules based applications that also integrate with
existing and/or legacy assets
Because IDP was able to deliver to the market place 4 state of the art
products in 4 months
Because IDP is able to leverage its USA (without any modifications)
to expand its product offering to 9 products across multiple
channels (e.g. mobile) and countries
Because other companies and industries can also benefit from our
architecture and IBM technology experience as well expertise

- 11. Technology Selection Criteria….. was rigorous
Does it support our going forward architecture?
Are the development skills readily available in the market place?
Is the development process visual and self documenting?
Do adequate design and development stage tools exist?
Is it Web 2.0, SOA, BPM and Rules based?
Will it integrate with our legacy/existing assets (e.g. .NET, SQL Server, flat files, XML
messages, etc.)
Will it scale to support 1000+ insurance carriers running on our SaaS platform
Will it scale to support 10+ million consumers using our SaaS platform
Will we be able to make use of newly built assets in many circumstances without
cutting & pasting code
Can a small (but smart) development team “bang out a bunch” of high quality apps
quickly
Is it cost effective (including all hidden costs)?
Does it give us a single throat to choke?
