2. BMU programme for promoting investments in the
reduction of environmental pollution abroad
Aims of the funding:
• Direct, measurable impact on the environment, including, in particular to
reduce air and water pollutants, or
• Presenting economic activities to improve the climate, in particular, reducing
carbon dioxide emissions and replace fossil fuels by renewable energy
sources.
The intensity of co-financing: 30% -75% of eligible costs
Multipliereffect, ie. The possibility of relocation of activities in a project designed
for areas with a simila rsituation and the economic side of the project.
Name of event
3. Primary Objectives:
1. Production of green energy – reduce
air pollution by reducing CO2.
2. Solution model, which is an incentive
for similar actions to other local
communities.
Name of event
4. DetailObjectives:
1. Increase energy independence of Daszyna Commune.
2. Cooperation with the heating plant in a situation of
greater demand for energy (in winter).
3. Take advantage of surplus of straw from local
agriculture.
4. Social-economic development of Daszyna Commune.
5. Promotion of Daszyna.

5. Reduction of CO2

Heat of Combustion 23.8 MJ/kg 14.7 MJ/kg
Pure Carbon content 97% 46%
Ash content < 2% 6%
Ammount of CO2 produced
4.07 kgCO2 6.8 kgCO2
to obtain 100 MJ of energy
Equivalent emmision of CO2 – 1.96 x 106 kg/year
For biomass solution – 0 kg/year
Name of event
11. Boiler
The boiler must be carefully chosen in
order to satisfy the plant requirements:
1. Reliability
2. Stability of parameters
3. High efficiency
4. Flexibility
5. High temperature of water
6. Dealing with straw burning problems

17. Turbine
1. The turbine is an integral element in the cycle
2. It converts the energy of the working fluid into mechanical energy
3. The turbine must accurately match the given conditions of the
localization
4. Examples of turbine stages:
18. The conditions that a turbine should satisfy
1.In case of the commercial projects -
high reliability (one hour off is very
expensive)
2.High efficiency – it results in greater
electrical
3.Simple design – results in lower cost of
the turbine
19. The concept for Daszyna
1.Working fluid with high critical
temperature (e. g. R141b)
2.A few stage impulse turbine with
rotational speed of 3000 rev/min
(cheaper but less efficient solution)
3.A few stage reaction turbine (more
efficient but also more expensive
solution)
20. Power generator
1. Power generator – three phase asynchronous
induction motor
2. The turbine and the power generator combine to
the turbogenerator
21. Other components
1. Heat exchangers – must be reliable
and well sealed (to prevent any leaks
and mixing)
2. Circulation pump – the best would be a
hermetic one
3. Control system – power plant must be
fully automated
4. Other elements – must withstand the
conditions of the ORC cycle
22. The advantages
1. The concept can be applied in other country
regions due to availability of the straw.
2. The cycle is flexible and scalable.
3. The idea is innovative as it would be the first of
this kind in Poland.
