project “Mathematics of Planet Earth 2013” (MPE2013) will continue as
“Mathematics of Planet Earth” (MPE).
The objectives is to identify fundamental research questions about
Planet Earth and reach out to the general public.

Patterns of genetic variation can be detected at various
scales, ranging from gene expression (traits) to populations.
The presence of such patterns implies the possibility of
