This document presents a comparative study of different mobile operating systems conducted by students Zulkar Naim, Mosarrof Hossain, and Shahidul Islam. It provides overviews of BlackBerry OS and Symbian OS, compares app availability and market share between various platforms, discusses advantages and disadvantages, and examines recently launched and upcoming mobile OSs such as Firefox OS and Ubuntu Touch. The study was supervised by Nafisa Khanam Siddika and presented course research on comparative analysis of mobile operating systems.

Advantages
Designed for Business Purpose uses. [10]
It offers free BBM(BlackBerry Messenger) service.
Disadvantages
Only a few number of apps are available in market for
Blackberry OS.
BlackBerry devices are Costly
14. Advantages & Disadvantages of Symbian OS
Advantages
Symbian OS is easy to Configure on devices. [11]
It offers fully Multitasking feature.
It has lots of built-in features.
Simple than other mobile OS. So It’s easier to use.
Symbian OS based Smartphones are available in reasonable prices.
Disadvantages
Not so much Apps are available.
Apps are varying for OS versions. For example- an Apps developed for Symbian
OS version S60v2 can not be install/run into Symbian OS version S60v3.
Not much Stable. Reboot automatically while there are many apps running on
background.
15. Recently launched & Upcoming Mobile OSs
There are several new Mobile OS platforms are launched and
some of these are still in development State. Such as –
Firefox OS (already launched & produced Smartphone)
UbuntuTouch,
Sailfish OS,
Tizen.
We’ve discussed here about Firefox OS and Ubuntu
