His are all things in the heavens and on earth.His are all things in the heavens and on earth.
La-hu – maa – fis – sa - maa – waa – ti –
wa –maa – fil - ardw

Who is there can intercede in His presenceWho is there can intercede in His presence
except as He permitteth?except as He permitteth?
Man- dzal- la – dzee – yash – fa- ‘u –
‘in - da-huu – il-laa – bi – idz - nihi

He knoweth what (appeareth to His creaturesHe knoweth what (appeareth to His creatures
as) Before or After or Behind them.as) Before or After or Behind them.
Ya’ – la – mu – maa – bai – na – ay – dee-
him - wa –maa – khal – fa - hum

Nor shall they compass aught of His knowledgeNor shall they compass aught of His knowledge
except as He willeth.except as He willeth.
Wa- laa – yu – Hee – twuu –na – bi – shay –in
min – ‘il – mi –hi – il-laa – bi – maa- shaa’

His Throne doth extend over the heavens and theHis Throne doth extend over the heavens and the

Wa- si- ’a – kur – siy – yu –hus –samaa –
waa – ti - wal - ardwa

and He feeleth no fatigue in guarding andand He feeleth no fatigue in guarding and

Wa- laa – ya – uu - du-huu – Hif - zu-hu-maa

For He is the Most High, the Supreme (in glory).For He is the Most High, the Supreme (in glory).
Wa- hu-wal – ‘aliy - yul – ‘azee-m

(O Allah! Make to appear) around us Angels(O Allah! Make to appear) around us Angels
(to protect us) like those (You make to always(to protect us) like those (You make to always
be) surrounding the City of the Prophet, (suchbe) surrounding the City of the Prophet, (such
that we do not need trenches nor walls.....that we do not need trenches nor walls.....
Binas-ta-daa-rat , ka-mas-ta-ta-daa-ra-til ma-
laa-i-katu – bi-ma-dee-natir-ro-suul bi-laa-
khan-da-qin wa-laa – suu-r

..... against any forces decreed, and any..... against any forces decreed, and any
threats perceived (dreaded), and from everythreats perceived (dreaded), and from every
harm of every evil.”harm of every evil.”
Min-kul-li – qa-da-rin – maq-duur, wa – kha-

raa-ri - wa shu-ruu-r

We fortify ourselves with (the protection of)We fortify ourselves with (the protection of)

Swon-’a-tu-hu – la- tan-qo-ti-’uu :

With firm resolve without faltering : with (ourWith firm resolve without faltering : with (our

‘A-zee-ma-tu-hu – la-tan- shaq-qu:
Bi-Al-fi, Al-fi, Al-fi : Laa- Hau-la –wa-laa –
quw-wa-ta – il-laa – bil-laa-hil-’aliy-yil-’azeem

O Allah! If anyone evil intends any harmO Allah! If anyone evil intends any harm
towards us, from amongst the jinn or fromtowards us, from amongst the jinn or from
mankind, or from wild creatures ...mankind, or from wild creatures ...
Allaa-hum-ma – in –a-Ha-dun – a-raa-da-naa bi-
suu-’in – mi-nal – jin-ni wal-in-si – wal – wu-Huush

... And any other than these, from whatever... And any other than these, from whatever
creatures (You created), whether humancreatures (You created), whether human
(apparent), or satan (unseen), or those with(apparent), or satan (unseen), or those with
power, or ‘inner whisperings’ ...power, or ‘inner whisperings’ ...
Wa – ghoy - ri-him - min – saa- iril- makh-lu-qaa-ti –
min - ba- sha -rin – au –shay-twaa-nin –
au- sul-twaa-nin - au- was-was

Repel (reject with Your Might O Allah!) their gazeRepel (reject with Your Might O Allah!) their gaze
(vision and evil intention) back towards themselves,(vision and evil intention) back towards themselves,
their hearts filled with uncertainty (and anxiety) ....their hearts filled with uncertainty (and anxiety) ....
Far – dud - na-za-ra – hum - fin – ti-kaa-s
Wa-qu-luu-bum – fee – was – waa-s

... and their hands empty (in despair), and... and their hands empty (in despair), and
overturn (and destroy) them from their feet tooverturn (and destroy) them from their feet to
their head ...their head ...
Wa - ay- dee-him – fee – if – laa -s
Wa – au – biq – hum – mi-nar- rij – li
– ilaar – ra’- si

.... (such they are) unable to traverse any.... (such they are) unable to traverse any
valley, and never able to climb any hills....valley, and never able to climb any hills....
Laa- fee – sah-lin – yaq – ta’
Wa-laa – fee – ja-ba-lin – yatw – la’
