FLOWERS DAY CELEBRATED AT
TRINITY SCHOOL
W
ith the arrival of colder weath-
er, foggy days and laziness are
all too common. To break up the
monotony, the Primary Wing of Trinity
School celebrated Flower Day by making
the environment colourful. On August
27, 2022, our students celebrated Flowers
Day on the school grounds.
The concept's goal was to delve into
the world of flowers. Children wore dress-
es, accessories, and hats that were cre-
atively embellished with flowers. They
were all dressed beautifully
.
The activity was not only refreshing
due to the bright flowers, but it also
assisted students in differentiating
between different flowers and their
colours.
The blossoming buds adorned their
classrooms with various flowers. Fur-
thermore, the children were encouraged
to share whatever they knew about God's
amazing gift to mankind. They discussed
the various types of flowers, their sig-
nificance, and their applications.
This is what we mean when we talk
about activity-based learning. Simple
concepts such as flowers can be taught
to children in novel ways that have a long-
lasting impact on their minds.
Audio-visual learning, concept rein-
forcement, motor skill development, and
fun-learning all occur concurrently
through such activities.

Festivals build group cohesiveness,
bring people together, break the mo-
notony of routine, and energise the
body, mind, and spirit. Echoing this
festive spirit, the Primary students of
Sri Vinayaga Vidhyalaya School cele-
brated Ganesh Chaturthi with much
zeal and zest on 30th September 2022.
Ganesha is the first to be worshiped
among all the gods in Hindu mytholo-
gy
. He is known as the God of
prosperity and wisdom who re-
moves all obstacles, bestows happiness,
and spreads peace. The special as-
sembly commenced on a spiritual note
with the chanting of the Lord Gane-
sha. The little Indianites took turns
and spoke about the festival and its sig-
nificance. The little dancing stars
rocked on a medley of Ganesh songs
which added splendour to the entire
assembly
. The spirit of celebration and
fervour permeated the virtual festivi-
ties. The festival awakened devotion,
creativity, understanding, and learn-
ing amongst children. Prasatham was
brought by the students. Everyone had
fun and enjoyed the celebration.

A Class Apart
Bliss is in earning big
And happiness in settling abroad
Such were my fantasies
Until one day, the motherland called.
In the past, the nucleus of civilization
At present, an active mitochondrion,
And in the future, a forerunner to many
This country has a huge legacy!
I traversed the antique shades of saffron
I explored the uniform white
I noticed the diverse green
And amused at how it all merged.
Having been rich amongst rags
And with a vision to achieve everything under the sun,
My nation has shown. That it is second to none.
With a great nation comes great citizenship.
Encouraging unity in diversity,
Fostering the economy of our dreams,
And remembering those immortal souls
Shall we live as law-abiding Indians.
And then did I understand,
Bliss is in patriotism. And happiness in
national duty! Vande Mataram!

anesh Chaturthi is a well-
known Hindu festival. Ac-
cording to the Hindu calen-
dar, this festival is held in the month
of Bhadrapada. Ganesha Chaturthi
is celebrated to commemorate Lord
Ganesha's birth. Lord Ganesha is
believed to be the son of Lord Shi-
va and Goddess Parvati.
Lord Ganesha is known by many
different names. Omkareshwar, Ga-
janan, Lambodara, Umputra, and
many more. Lord Ganesha is also
known as Vighnaharta because he
removes all our sorrows and brings
us joy. Lord Ganesha is known as
Vighnaharta in South India.
In North India he is known as
skanda or lord Ganesha. He is
known as Gajanan in eastern India.
He is known as Siddhi Vinayak or
omputra in western India.
Ganesha Chaturthi is a festival
that lasts eleven days and is cele-
brated by making Modak, which is
also known as Lord Ganesha's
favourite sweet. On the eleventh day
,
also known as Ganpati Visarjan,
people say Ganpati Bappa Morya
and leave him in the river, asking
him to take away all
our pains, give us hap-
piness, and return
with lots of joy.

anmashtami is .the festival which cele-
brates the birth of the mischievous and
naughty god, Lord Krishna. It usually falls
on the months August or September, as the date
differs due to the Rohini star not falling on the
same day
. There are many myths and stories on
how Krishna was born. Throughout his life, he
was vanishing all his enemies, though he nev-
er became a king. But he captured all the trust
and love of the citizens. Once, he helped the
Pandavas when they were fighting a war with
their cousins. He always stood beside dharma
and only was Arjun’s charioteer. When Arjun
decided to not to fight, Krishna helped him re-
gain his confidence and taught him the right-
eousness of a warrior. This advice was made
into a book known as the Gita. On this auspi-
cious day
, we worship Lord Krishna with but-
ter and flattened rice (poha). It is also said that
he comes to our house to bless us.

he word 'MOM' just consists of 3 al-
phabets but it means a lot. She is just
amazing. She always thinks about us.
She is always ready to bear pain for us. She
doesn't care that she is well or not but does
take care of us. She always tries her best to
make sure we are comfortable and happy
. She
is every child's idol. She may be strict sometimes
and scold us but it is also for us only
. Above all, she never leaves
my side even in the hardest of times. Every
mother is special to her children. She is a great
teacher, a lovely friend, and a strict parent. She
teaches me good habits and moral values. Also,
she takes care of the needs of the whole fami-
ly. If there is anyone out there who loves us
more than our mother it is only God. She puts
her best effort sometimes to make our favorite
food. We may not pay attention to her feelings
whether she is happy or not. She helps me with
my studies and homework But she always
makes sure of it. What do you think?? Isn't she
amazing?? At last I would conclude it with a
beautiful full form I made for my mother.

maintained his strong start to his
U.S. Open title defence on Wednes-
day, dispatching France’s Arthur
Rinderknech 6-2 7-5 6-3 in the Arthur Ashe
Stadium to reach the third round.
After an inconsistent run-up to Flush-
ing Meadows, Medvedev gained momentum
after his straight sets win over Stefan Ko-
zlov in the first round on Monday and picked
up where he left off against Rinderknech.
Medvedev frustrated Rinderknech with his
flawless shot placement and pounced on the
Frenchman’s serve to keep him pinned back
on the baseline, while also saving all three
break points, he faced as he controlled the
contest from the start.
Medvedev dictated play with ground-
strokes and got the break in the third set
by claiming the fifth game, before racing
to victory
. He is bidding to become the first
men’s player to clinch consecutive U.S. Open
crowns since Roger Federer swept the tour-
nament each year between 2004 and 2008.

E
rling Haaland scored a
hat trick for the second
straight game as Man-
chester City thrashed
Nottingham Forest 6-0
in the Premier League
on Wednesday. All of the Norway
striker’s goals came in the first half
at Etihad Stadium, before Joao Can-
celo scored a fourth and Julian Al-
varez added two more - his first goals
for City since his offseason arrival
from River Plate - in the second half
in the champions’ fourth win in five
games of their title defense. Haa-
land’s three goals against Crystal
Palace on Saturday came in a 19-
minute burst in the second half and
he did all his damage against Forest
in the space of 26 minutes before half-
time, taking his record to a league-
leading nine goals.
UNGUARDED NET
Haaland outmuscled his marker to
poke home a cross from Phil Foden
in the 12th minute and then tapped
into an unguarded net in the 23rd af-
ter Foden was tackled by Neco
Williams just as the winger was about
to shoot. By that point, Haaland had
only had four touches of the ball. His
hat-trick goal came in the 38th and
again it was from close range when
he nodded home from a central po-
sition after John Stones headed the
ball back across the face of goal. Can-
celo scored the best goal of the night,
smashing a rising shot high into the
net from outside the area in the 50th
minute and City manager Pep Guardi-
ola was again punching the air when
Alvarez, making his first start for City
,
ran onto Riyad Mahrez’s pass and
slipped a finish between goalkeeper
Dean Henderson’s legs. Alvarez com-
pounded Forest’s misery by firing a
shot in off the underside of the cross-
bar in the 87th at the end of a coun-
terattack. City has scored 19 goals in
its five games, the most in the league.
PERFECT START
Arsenal has matched its best ever start
to a Premier League season after se-
curing a fifth straight win to open the
season by beating Aston Villa 2-1.
Gabriel Martinelli’s 77th-minute goal
clinched victory at Emirates Stadium
after Arsenal was pegged back by con-
ceding a goal straight from a corner by
Douglas Luiz, who did the same in an
English League Cup match last week,
too. That came against the run of play
,
with Arsenal dominating the game but
only having Gabriel Jesus’ 30th-minute
goal - his third of the season - to show
for it. Liverpool is battling hard to keep
up with the fierce pace set by Arsenal
and City
, needing a goal in the eighth
minute of stoppage time by Fábio Car-
valho to claim a dramatic 2-1 win over
Newcastle. Alexander Isak gave New-
castle the lead in the 38th on his debut
following a move from Real Sociedad
on Friday for a club-record fee and was
denied a second goal by a narrow off-
side call. Roberto Firmino swept in a
finish from Mohamed Salah’s cross to
equalize before a penalty-box melee fol-
lowing a corner saw the ball pop up off
the shoulder of Salah, and Carvalho -
a summer signing from Fulham - re-
acted quickest to smash into the roof
of the net. AGENCIES

Tottenham remained unbeaten
after a 1-1 draw at West Ham, for
whom club-record signing Lucas
Paqueta missed a chance to score
a late winner on his debut. West
Ham manager David Moyes said
before kickoff that Paqueta had
not so much as passed a ball to
his new teammates
after only complet-
ing his 52 million
pound ($61.6 mil-
lion) switch
from Lyon on
Monday. With
four minutes
remaining,
Vladimir Coufal
pulled the ball back and Paqueta -
on as a 67th-minute substitute -
got in a mix-up with fellow new
signing Emerson Palmieri as they
left the ball to each other, 10
meters from goal, instead of tak-
ing a shot. Moyes fell to his knees
on the touchline. An own-goal
from Thilo Kehrer gave
Tottenham the lead
before Tomas
Soucek equalized.
In the other game,
Bournemouth
drew 0-0 at home
to Wolverhampton,
two days after firing
manager Scott Parker.
