VISION
Become a reference for the inclusion of
every student in the educational process.
Mission
 To encourage and foster civic and moral values
promoting a sense of mutual respect, responsibility
and self-esteem in each student and member of
staff.
 To foster, in co-operation with parents, a caring
school community in which we strive to develop
each dimension of the pupil: the moral, aesthetic,
intellectual, physical and emotional.
 To strive, together with parents, to meet the needs
of children as they develop academically, socially and
phisycally.
 To promote an effective articulation among the
schools of the School Group.
 To reach students individual potential, within a
small class environment.
Educational Goals
LABORATORIES: The school has fully equipped
laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Biology and
Computer Science. Models, slides, charts, video and
CDs for other subjects are also available.
School Facilities
LIBRARY: The library has variety of books
ranging from fairy tales, encyclopedia, fiction,
science, religion, arts, architecture and general
knowledge. Periodicals and magazines on many
subjects help the students to spend many happy
hours expanding their knowledge. The library is
constantly being up-dated.
COMPUTER LAB: The school has well equipped
computer lab with adequate facility for individual
training. Computer Science is compulsory for all
students.
GAMES AND SPORTS: Physical Education is
compulsory for all students. They develop their physical
skills doing Gymnastics and playing games like
Basketball, Volleyball, Football, Handball, and so on.
“SCHOOL SPORT” is an extra curricular activity, especially for
girls, in our school. The students usually take part in different
competitions. Hikes, Cycling and occasional camps also form a
part of their activities.
TEACHING FOR SUCCESS
Providing study lessons supported by teachers of Portuguese
and Maths in small groups of students.
Improving the students’ behaviour through a special Office.
 Advising students with problems in their private lives with
tutorial teachers.
 Working together with different entities (police, local
authorities, local health centre, museum of rural life and
so on).
 Working together with Students’ Association.
TEACHING FOR SUCCESS
 Creating a Certificate of Merit to improve the students’
performances, skills and behaviour.
Taking part in different projects and activities
(eg.Comenius, school trips, …)
TEACHING FOR SUCCESS
 Having a Special Education Needs Unit for students
with mental and psychological disorders.
 Promoting the use of ICT for different purposes
(classes, the school online newspaper, library and
classes blogs, having a LMS – moodle, and so on).
