INTRODUCTION  The project Hospital Information Management system includes registration of patients, storing their details into the system, and also computerized billing in the pharmacy, and labs for both in and out patient.  The system has the facility to give a unique id for every patient and stores the details of every patient and the staff automatically. It includes a search facility to know the current status of each room. User can search availability of a doctor and the details of a patient using the id. 3
  4.  HIMS is a software product suite designed to improve the quality and management of hospital management in the areas of clinical process analysis and activity-based costing.  enables you to develop your organization and improve its effectiveness and quality of work. Managing the key processes efficiently is critical to the success of the hospital helps you manage your processes. 4
  5. OBJECTIVE OF THE SYSTEM General Objective  The general objective of this Research is to develop full functional Hospital Information Management System for Kombolcha Hospital. Specific Objectives  To Define and identify hospitals in detail work flow functionality with cross sectional work flow.  Record, retrieve and manage full information about the Patients that come. 5
  6.  Generating patient related bills.  Recording information related to diagnosis given to patients from to responsible Hospital staff ( with multiple Department).  Keeping record of the immunization provided to patients.  Keeping information about various diseases and medicines available to cure them.  Design and implement pharmacological database system and integrate to the main system.  Design and implement Human resource management system to the Hospital 6
  7. SCOPE OF THE SYSTEM  Information about Patients is done by just writing the Patients name, age and gender. Whenever the Patient comes up his information is stored freshly.  Bills are generated by recording price for each facility provided to patient on a separate sheet and at last they all are summed up.  Diagnosis information to patients is generally recorded on a database.  Immunization records of patients are maintained in pre-formatted sheets, which are kept in a Database. 7

ETHICAL CONSIDERATIONS  In Hospital Information Management System, there are a lot of task procedures which needs ethical consideration re-altered to the including not limited the following events:  Patient information system security based on their need between the doctors and them.  Clinical and prescription privacy for every client for the hospital  Medication ethical procedures starting from reception to clinical procedure to the pharmaceuticals prescription including expire date of drugs will be follow the basic ethical procedures of the Hospital System based on WHO, Ministry of Health and Kombolcha Hospital Guidelines. 25

BENEFITS OF THE PROPOSED SYSTEM  This HIMS has several benefits for patients and hospital staffs in terms of time, safety, accountability, reliability, safe and quit work flow on paper will be implemented on software systems .
