Daily Resolution aims to help people develop calming habits through iterative SMS and mobile app interventions. The first iteration involved nightly SMS questions about exercise plans and results, which saw high voluntary participation and follow-through rates as people were motivated by commitments and self-reporting. Data on commitments, actual behavior, and weekly trends was collected. The second iteration combined the nightly SMS with a mobile web app for online responses and personal/social stats that could be shared on Facebook and Twitter, and allowed inviting and challenging friends. Possible extensions included adding a personal trainer, related products/services, and expanding beyond exercise to other interest areas.
