The Spots project was using GPS devices and mobile displays to study leopards' reactions to different design patterns. Researchers wanted to collect real-time data on the reactions but found it difficult to take detailed notes. To address this, they equipped researchers with video cameras connected to a live satellite broadcast link to record and stream the leopards' responses. The live streaming worked well when the satellite connection was strong but some researchers struggled with the technology. The project learned that training and offline recording options were needed when the satellite was down, and researchers may require electronic tags to help locate them.
