In China, $221 billion dollars will be directed over the next ten years toward renewable energy, and the 27 January 2010 China Daily reports: With the government dedicating such significant funds…prime business opportunities are blooming for American firms in the alternative energy market . As reported on the Tekes website, Finland and China have been developing close science and technology cooperation since 1986. More recently, Finland established FinNode offices in the U.S. and China to serve as a link between innovative Finnish entities and their related counterparts in each country. Finland is among the global leaders in the development of innovative clean energy technologies and in light of the above, it is worthwhile and feasible to link Finnish renewable energy stakeholders with their US and China counterparts in trilateral innovation and production networks. Therefore, the broad aim of the 2010 FinNode USA project, Renewable Energy – U.S. and China, is to lay the ground for this result.
