This document provides information about an upcoming debate competition hosted by Amity Institute of Information and Technology on the topic of whether online social networking makes people more anti-social. 2. RULES AND REGULATIONS
 Due to the excess entries, first there will be
an elimination round.
 Extempore will be held for elimination.
 In this round, you will be given a topic on the
spot, on which you have to speak for 1 min.
 Then out of all, 10 best participants will be
selected and they will enter the main debate
competition.

3. RULES AND REGULATIONS(CONTD.)
 Total participants will be 10.
 5 for the motion and 5 against the motion.
 At a time a student will speak for the
motion, followed by the one against the
motion. Time allotted is 3.5 minutes.
 Then, the former and latter will compete on
the stage as rebuttal for which collectively
they will be given 3 minutes.
 Note* - Negative marking for interjection.
 Use of any paper or guided reference may
lead to disqualification.

4. SCORE SHEET FOR 1ST ROUND (EXTEMPORE)
 JUDGED OUT OF A TOTAL OF 30.
 CONTENT – 10 MARKS.
 CONFIDENCE – 10 MARKS
 FLUENCY – 10 MARKS
NOTE* - ONLY SELECTED CONTESTANTS WILL
BE ELIGIBLE FOR 2ND ROUND.

5. SCORE-SHEET FOR 2ND ROUND (DEBATE)
 JUDGED OUT OF A TOTAL OF 100.
 CONTENT – 25 MARKS.
 STYLE OF DELIVERY – 25 MARKS.
 STRATEGY/CONTENT MANAGEMENT – 25
MARKS.
 REBUTTAL – 25 MARKS.
 NEGATIVE 10 ON EXCEEDING TIME LIMIT.
 NEGATIVE 5 IF THE CONTESTENTS DON’T
LET THEIR OPPONENTS FINISH THE
SENTENCES WHILE REBUTTAL.

 IS THERE ANY PRIZE MONEY OR
CERTIFICATES ASSOCIATED WITH THIS
EVENT?
 No, there is no prize money, although everyone
participating will get certificate of participation. The
winner and runner-up of both the notions will get a
trophy and a certificate of merit.
 WILL WE GET O.D. FOR THIS EVENT?

 The elimination round will start at 2 pm sharp in
