2. Design Concept The goal was to transform a 2D thing into a 3D object. Synopsis: The piece of paper doesn’t like how it looks, and makes the decision to improve its appearance. The animation represents a combination of fine art (origami & photography) and computer design (Final Cut Pro).
3. Background/Research I got into origami because it’s an accessible and cheap art form. No need for special tools or materials. Just your hands and scrap paper.
4. Storyboards Page 1 Page 2 Page 3 Page 4 The flip book helped me learn how to make an image grow from a background and recede into it. I incorporated it into my animation.
5. Conclusion My fine art skills have successfully come together with digital technology, which is new for me. If I could move forward, I would continue trying stop-motion animation with other origami projects, just to see their transformation from paper to sculture.
