may crack or become scratched if they are pulled out too roughly

exposure to direct or intense light.

Storage must be free from pest (mice) or termites

Never store LRs in plastic containers/ bags to
prevent moisture/molds to build up, rather in acid-
free paper so as to prevent discoloration

The storage facility should be free from contamination of
chemicals or its fumes.

Disposal of Learning Resources

DISPOSAL OF LEARNING RESOURCES
a.The School Supply Officer/designated Property
Custodian shall make a report on learning resources
to be disposed of and submit this to the Division
Office for appropriate action.
b.Disposal of learning resources may be done once
the Disposal Committee of Division Office and Local
Commission on Audit have completed inspection of
the condemnable learning resources and when all
documents related thereto are acknowledged and
signed.

c. Disposal may be done in the following
modes: shredding and cutting, burying, or
donating to communities and barangays with
reading programs.
d. The School Supply Officer/designated
Property Custodian must ensure that the
learning resources that have been disposed of
are dropped from the school’s inventory report.

Determination of disposable learning resource
is based on the following:
• Has been rendered unnecessary due to
change in the agency’s functions/mandate.
• Has become dangerous or hazardous to use
• Has become obsolete
