Challenging academic studies

• Course selection in StudentVue for 2020-21 is now live
and can be accessed under “Course Request.”
• Students can review the PowerPoint posted to their
“Class of” Google Classroom
• Course selection cannot be done through the app – it
must be via a computer web browser.
• After meeting with your counselor, your selections will
be “locked.” Any changes would need to go through
your counselor.
• Parents/Guardians can see course selections in
ParentVue, but cannot make selections or changes.

Academic Days of Emphasis: Talking to every teacher in every class to assist with selecting courses for next year.
In order to make the best decisions when selecting courses for next year, its important to touch base with both your current teachers and your school counselor.
Website – all resources for 2020-21
Course Catalog is all online – mobile friendly!
Use the West Potomac Course Offerings List to search for the course by the number. You cannot just type in “English”!
If you accidentally add a course you are not interested in taking, you can remove it by selecting the “remove” option.
Log into ParentVUE and click on “Course Request”
Some courses have been prepopulated based on IEP’s or EL support needed. These courses are automatically locked. If you have any questions, you can email your student’s school counselor.
Locked classes: Once your student meets with their school counselor, the counselor will lock all classes so they cannot be changed. If your student decides to change a class after their meeting, they will need to contact their school counselor.

Once the school year begins, class changes are very limited and there are no HN/AP changes before October (then packets are reviewed on a space available basis.
