be understood separately. Example:
An old silent pond...
A frog jumps into the pond,
splash! Silence again. This can be read: "An old silent pond... A frog jumps into the pond." And also this
way: "A frog jumps into the pond, splash! Silence again." Keep in mind that even though it can be read as
two separate phrases, the full meaning of the haiku will only be apparent when all three lines are read
together.
