The Homework Help website was created by the Independent Learning Centre, with full support from the Ministry of Education The site contains comprehensive content and enrichment activities that are aligned with the Ontario Curriculum. The goal is to increase student achievement in Mathematics at the Intermediate level - Grades 7 through 10
The most exciting part of the website is the ability for Students to obtain mathematical help from real online tutors. These Tutors are Ontario Certified Math Teachers and are available online Sunday to Thursday from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm EST Once the students selects the appropriate grade level for their mathematics course they will be presented with a list of tutors. They select a tutor and then ask their question. The tutors will help guide the student through their question using a combination of a whiteboard and audio.
Everytime the student asks a question in the chat room there session is recorded and stored in their locker space for future review. The student also has the ability to tag other sessions and lessons they find helpful. Besides having access to the tutors, the website offers a lot of other resources, like over 250 pre-recorded sessions that highlight key areas of concerns in the curriculum
In the Listen and Learn section there are many 30 minute presentations covering common lessons and topics with in the curriculum What site designed with kids in mind wouldn't have a section that has a series of fun interactive tools to reinforce skills and concepts.
The tool section has many useful items like a scientific calculator with built-in tutorials and a Glossary with Helpful definitions and diagrams right at your fingertips
