PROFILE SUMMARY
I have a collective working experience of 20 years, of which 16 years was in management. I pride
myself to have joined management ranking at the age of 27 years.
I have worked in three different industries, Banking, Transport and Logistics and Oil and Gas. My
activities at present in Oil and Gas are focused around upstream, midstream and downstream
business streams.
As the finance manager for 16 years I have full accounting function experience, i.e. financial
accounting, management accounting, costing, treasury accounting and tax.
I worked as a finance manager for Transnet for 6 years responsible for Corporate accounting
activities amongst others statutory reporting, management reporting and budgets, treasury, tax and
interface with internal and external audit.
I then worked for PetroSA as a finance manager for 10 years responsible for management
accounting functions such as management reporting and budgets, inventory management, financial
modelling and production & pricing decisions.
I also have experience in other business disciplines/processes such as procurement and Corporate
Social Investment. I was a member of the Transnet and PetroSA procurement committees for more
than 10 years and the chairperson of the South Cape College procurement committee for 3 years.
Throughout my tenure at the college I have guided in the establishment of processes, policies and
procedures for effective operation of the tendering process.
I have also played a role at different structures of leadership such South Cape College where I was a
board member for 7 years. I chaired the Finance committee, adjudication committee and was also the
deputy chair of the audit committee. I am currently chairing number of disciplinary hearings on behalf
of the company and also played a role in negotiations with labour as member of the Employee
representative forum (ERF) on matters concerning conditions of employment.
I hold a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and Diploma
in Cost and Management Accounting. I have also done number of on job certificates such as Mine
health and safety law for managers, HSE leadership training, International Financial Reporting for Oil
and Gas (IFRS) and How to improve refinery profit margins.
I often go beyond my core finance function in terms my scope and business knowledge. I am best
utilised in idea generations structures (business development), projects and business areas which are
dysfunctional mainly because of my knowledge of business processes and ability to optimise and
contribute to turn around businesses.
I am a passionate cyclist, swimmer and soccer player. I however enjoy basically most South African
sporting codes such Rugby, Cricket and Netball.
