In the early 1990s the weyer-group re-
ceived its first orders from pharmaceuti-
cal industry customers. At that time it was
primarily about projects and consultancy
referring to waste air purification, storage
of hazardous liquids and explosion pre-
vention and protection.
Early in 2009 the group management
decided to extend the service offer for
our customers of the pharmaceutical in-
dustries by including the planning of pro-
duction plants for pharmaceutical active
ingredients and final dosage forms. First
in Switzerland and gradually in Germany
and Austria.
In January 2010 we were ready to get
started: Weyer and Partner (Switzerland)
Corp., which has been located in Basel
for more than 20 years, succeeded in
employing seven pharma engineers of
the former Linde-KCA-Dresden in Lör-
rach, Germany. These engineers brought
in their profound treasure trove of ex-
perience: more than 30 years of expert
knowledge in planning and qualification
of plants in the pharmaceutical and fine
chemical industries. Hence the mar-
ket entry worked faster than originally
scheduled.
