COURSE PROJECTS
Automatic Speech Recognition(ASR) engine via machine learning Feb 2015 –June 2015
– Implemented DNN(Deep Neural Network) in Python to recognize phones from filter bank sequences and RNN
(Recursive Neural Network) to reconstruct sentences using context consistency information.
– Managed a team of three members, arranged tasks and goals and monitored overall progress.
– Fortified the algorithm with GPU acceleration techniques to efficiently tackle large scale data(107 examples).
Personal data synchronization cloud Sep 2014 –Jan 2015
– Implemented a personal cloud on an Angstrom Linux environment that automatically synchronizes data from
a mobile or dektop device.
– Constructed web user interface for users to download synchronized data.
Structure from Motion Sep 2016 –Dec 2016
– Led a team of three and implemented in MATLAB structure from motion algorithm that took in images as
input and reconstructed the scene without prior knowledge about the camera poses and scene structure.
– Visualized the outcome in MATLAB with interactive user interface.
Functionally Reduced of And-Inverter Graphs(FRAIG) Sep 2013 –Feb 2014
– Implemented an EDA tool with Object-Oriented C++ that analyzes circuits and locates functionally equivalent
gates in Linux environment.
– Enhanced the tool so that it reduces gate number of a circuit from 108 to 104 while retaining functionality.
RESEARCH
Visual servoing corridor navigation for humanoid robot Nao Feb 2014 –June 2015
– Adapted and implemented corridor navigation algorithms on humanoid robot Nao in Python.
– Incorporated computer vision techniques to gather information via built-in camera installed on Nao.
– Further extended it to handle more non-ideal situations where not both aisles are visible, which expanded the
working region for humanoid robots.
– Encompassed obstacle avoidance local planner into the algorithm and reinforced the robot’s resilience in more
realistic terrains.
LEADERSHIP
Tzu Chi Collegiate Association, Vice president Sep 2014 –Jun 2015
– Organized volunteer activities aiming at care for elderly and underprivileged children.
– Cooperated with members from over 20 universities in Taipei and held more than 50 events.
