Man builds social traditions and use them to broaden and confirm their personal
experience. These social traditions that come from the past, come from the collective
experience of a group of people over time. Culture can be defined as a tradition that
develops and socially perpetuates.
All cultural traditions are rooted in the faculties of feeling, thinking and acting that has
the human species. Throughout the history many cultures have left a tangible
testimony, this testimony is especially important from the perspective of history.

2. ACTIVITY
The teacher will explain how the project is going to happen, and will show a video of
Egyptians appropriate for the age. The video will be socialized with the kids, and
related to their life experiences.
The classroom will be divided in groups, according to their skills and personalities, and
the activity will be developed following the next slides using a data display.
The children will follow instructions in a great part, but in each step, they will be
encouraged to do their own contributions.
The next step will be giving them elements of the Maya culture, by showing some
videos appropriate for their age. They will be encouraged to research in books, or in
Internet in collaboration with their parents. Then they will give ideas on how to
construct a Maya pyramid, and make up a story that could be painted in the Maya
pyramid, taking in consideration what they learn about the Maya culture and
aesthetics.
