The SMC simplifies storage management tasks, improves security, and enables effective storage resource management. It allows browser-based management of Symmetrix arrays. – Number of volumes per array depends on Enginuity release
– Will launch/discover 32K volumes in < 2 minutes

– Shares the SYMAPI database with Solutions Enabler (SYMCLI)

– Average use is 384 MB of memory, maximum is 684 MB
