Taking place in the exceptional and charming hot-spot of the city - the KOSMOS CINEMA Berlin - attendees gathered in a festive ceremony to decide in a live poll about the winning projects. Beforehand, an independent jury - composed of Darius Miranda (Vice President, Social Business Strategy, Wells

NetStrategy / JMC) - , had chosen a number of 7 best projects and did a preselection from all submitted
applications to give nominees the chance to prepare a brief video clip for the live-poll at the event itself.
Award Category: Intranet Integration Strategy & Digital Workplace Management Award
The winner of the Intra.NET Reloaded Award 2014 in the category “Intranet Integration Strategy & Digital
Workplace Management” is NEXANS. NEXANS was awarded for their ‘Intranet version 4 project’ that addresses
strategic values within the group. The team managed to grow their user rate from a previous 70% to 100%. This
finally allowed for an increase of 250% in views of global news.
The second place went to Roland Berger Strategy Consultants for their social intranet project with the main aims
of creating an attractive, state-of-the-art information, communication and collaboration platform for employees
worldwide.

2. Award Category: User Experience Design & Content Management
The winner of the category “User Experience Design & Content Management” in 2014 is 's Heeren Loo Zorggroep
for their Project: 's Heeren Loo Portals. ‘s Heeren Loo Zorggroep created an employee portal giving users not only
access to news, updates, an event calendar, client data, HRM records, health care protocols and procedures, but
also profile pages of all employees and team sites for collaboration. In addition to this, a portal for mentally
challenged clients had been created to help users overcome difficulties when using the internet.
The second place of the award went to adidas Group for its a-LIVE project, which evolved around connecting the
formerly disjointed and complex worlds of information, collaboration, internal social media and business
applications on a personalized start page in a progressive design that is fun to use - both in the office and on the
go with a dedicated mobile app.

Award Category: Innovative Technology Integration
Barclays Bank Plc. and their project “Barclays - Creating Compelling Colleague Collaborations” won the first place
in the award category “Innovative Technology Integration”. Barclays Bank Plc. has been using their intranet as a
tool to help the colleague’s service customers through a directory of indexed process and product manuals. Until
today, this has resulted in a 36% reduction in frontline calls to back office operations, an 80% reduction in
knowledge related complaints, a 76% increase in frontline engagement, averaging 3.048 colleague posts per day
and a 25% increase in active users. Overall this has resulted in an aggregate saving of about £3m.
The intranet project of the Saudi Commission for Tourism & Antiquities (SCTA) with their implementation of tools
and services that helps and supports the organization’s business strategic goals, employee’s activities and tasks
was awarded the second place. SCTA achieved a high level of usability and reduced their costs effectively.

By winning the Intra.NET AWARD 2014 in Berlin, the selected projects not only received a trophy and official
certificate proving their excellence, but the three first places also received a € 2000 cheque from we.CONECT.
In this regard, this year’s prize money of € 2000 was donated to the charity project STEPS For the Future
supported by Weltfriedensdienst e.V. to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and its effects in Africa. STEPS For the
Future creates positive, provocative and humorous movies revolving around HIV positive men and women in
order to stop the stigmatization of the disease in Southern African countries.
3. The Intra.NET Reloaded 2014 organized by we.CONECT offered overall more than 40 Case Studies, World
Cafés and interactive sessions that stretched over more than 2 days. Discussions and presentations on topics
related to intranets, employee platforms, internal communications, digital settings and community building, as well
as social collaboration platforms. With this year’s edition, the Intra.NET Reloaded managed to surpass the high
expectations of the more than 240 international attendees.
After the Conference is before the Conference
With more than 40 speakers and moderators, as well as an assorted advisory board and business partners from
all over the world, the Intra.NET Reloaded 2014 presented the biggest networking platform of its format for
communication minds in Europe.
Shortly after the conference, the we.CONECT team is already preparing the 4th Intra.NET Reloaded 2015, which
will return to Berlin from April 27 – 28, 2015. Next year, the Intra.NET Award will once again be bestowed to
outstanding projects that have received not only internal support and appreciation, but deserve an international
