Provide detailed descriptions from chosen examples that establish⊠Clearly state what production technique(s)
you think have been used to create specific
soundtrack elements
Setting The setting for this is a public building called Merlaut. I know this because of
the narrative line âOkay Iâm in the lobby at the Merlautâ. Also due to this line I
believe the public building could be a restaurant or hotel/motel. It would
appear that the person is in the lobby to engage in crime actives. I know this
because of the narration the person says âIâm hacking inâ (0:22) and after that
he also says âHow much we got?â Immediately afterward another character
says âA hundred grand in thirty secondsâ. This is clearly a criminal operation
in a lobby of a hotel/restaurant.

gather the narrative.
Mood The trailer doesnât give me any mood. This is because there is no sound or
narrative to make me feel like something bad, good, sad, etc. is happening.
No production techniques would have been
used.
Game genre The game genre is [underground crime/action]. I know this is a game based
on cybercrime because of the phase âIâm hacking inâ (0:22) and the
conversation âHow much we got?â Immediately afterward another character
says âA hundred grand in thirty secondsâ. Towards the end of the cutscene we
hear a conversation between to other people âYouâre assigned Aiden Peirce.
Take him outâ. Initially I would have thought that is a secret police operation,
but then I hear the next of the conversation âHit the family if you need to. This
guyâs hacking days are overâ. Now having heard all the conversation I believe
this is a gang that is aiming to take out a member of a rival gang.

Narrative In this cutscene the narrative solely relies on narration. This is because all the
other sound effects donât justify their use in the cutscene: they donât help to
explain the setting, mood and game genre.

gather the narrative.
