Light of Hope Ltd. Investor Pitch
1. No matter where they born and which school they go, all children have
capacity to reach the full creative potential. – Wali, CEO, Light of Hope
2. 70% of primary-level children will enter in a job that doesn’t exist today.
Are we preparing our children for future?
70%
3. Light of Hope Ltd. is an uniquely
positioned startup focusing on
future skills of children. We are
currently the largest social
enterprise in Bangladesh directly
impacting over 100,000 children.
We developed our own Global ‘Future Skill Framework’ for children focusing on 4 areas:
Creativity, Problem-solving, Emotional Intelligence and Moral Values.
Every product and service
developed in-house and
interconnected with each other;
making it difficult to replicate and
scale for new competition.
4. BIG Question: How a startup can help millions of children to
acquire future skills?
Market Size
30 Million Children in Bangladesh
2.5 Million Children in Dhaka
1.5 Million Teachers
100,000+ primary schools
1000+ local & international NGOs
The market size calculation is only for Bangladesh. LoH is already offering some of it’s
products and services for international market.
5. Light of Hope Approach
We applied ‘first principles thinking’ to determine the building blocks to our
company. The questions we answered to develop our full solution to provide
future skills to children:
1. What are the most important groups (clients) that need to change?
2. What’s the most efficient method to bring those changes in large scale?
3. Can the solution bring revenue to reinvest to scale?
First Principles Thinking: Popularized by inventors like Elon Musk in recent times, first principles thinking
is basically the practice of actively questioning every assumption you think you ‘know’ about a given
problem or scenario – and then creating new knowledge and solution from scratch.
6. Light of Hope Solution
We developed a range of interconnected
services and solutions to directly impact
4 groups: Children, Teachers, Parents
and Schools.
Our products and services, individually,
can address a particular challenge and
scale throughout the country or
globally. And when put together, they
can give a life changing journey for a
child to acquire the most important
futures skills.
Why teachers: No school or education system is better than it’s teachers. The most
efficient and highest ROI comes when you develop skills of your teachers.
Why parents: Parents are the customers (who pays) and have huge influence on
child’s future. Mindset of parents determines the future education of a country.

15. Growth Matrix
From 2016-2018, we are focusing on the following growth matrix for the company. Since LoH
is not a typical app-based or tech-based startup, our growth matrix is diverse.
Financial Growth: Revenue & Asset
We determine both revenue and asset growth for the startup. Fix and current assets are vital for future
growth of the company like Light of Hope.
Service Growth
Number of services and solutionsadded to the portfolio to ensure the whole journey for children is
important for us. For example, Teachers Time was offering only physical courses till end of 2017, but
launchedit’s online platform on Oct, 2018.
Client Growth/Impact Growth: Children, Teachers, Schools
Number of children directly impacted, teachers received training and schools take our services are the
most important matrix that we focus. Since we consider Parents as Customers, we didn’t show that here.
Employee Growth
Quality human resource is a critical component for us to grow. Employee growth is an important matrix
that we focus now and will continue to do so in future.
