1.The basis of western democracy was
                      born in Ancient Greece.
2.It is crucial that students learn about
                      early forms of democratic government
and also the birth of western rational
thought in ways that relate to their
                      mindset.
3.Our material facilitates this learning in
                      an efficient and sensitive manner.

                     • Ancient Greece made enduring cultural contributions to western
culture in areas such as philosophy, mathematics, science,
history, art, architecture, drama and poetry.
                     • Students need to appreciate the enormous contribution made by
the Ancient Greeks to present day society. This is achieved in the
                       following ways.
                     • Through an experiential approach students feel and think what it
was like to live in Ancient Greece.
                     • They achieve this, in part, through stories which include
“Theseus and the Minotaur”, “Parrhasius and Helena”,
“Responsibility of Government”, “Life in Athens”,
“Bucephalus: The War Horse”, “The Trojan War: Parts 1, 2 &
3” and a “A Visit to the Theatre” while students are involved in
acting out different aspects of Ancient Greece society in dramas
“A Court of Law” and “Stories from the Iliad”.

  • 2. Greece Teachers’ Education Institute • Ancient Greece made enduring cultural contributions to western culture in areas such as philosophy, mathematics, science, history, art, architecture, drama and poetry. • Students need to appreciate the enormous contribution made by the Ancient Greeks to present day society. This is achieved in the following ways. • Through an experiential approach students feel and think what it was like to live in Ancient Greece. • They achieve this, in part, through stories which include “Theseus and the Minotaur”, “Parrhasius and Helena”, “Responsibility of Government”, “Life in Athens”, “Bucephalus: The War Horse”, “The Trojan War: Parts 1, 2 & 3” and a “A Visit to the Theatre” while students are involved in acting out different aspects of Ancient Greece society in dramas “A Court of Law” and “Stories from the Iliad”.
